The left wing uses cars and that means you should not interfere with their car ownership. To them, it is irrelevant that people can kill many with a car as they use them, themselves. Nice, France: 86 killed and 434 injured by one man running people over with a truck. That tally exceeded any individual school shooting, yet there would be outrage if their vehicle ownership was banned.
There are 26 MILLION people who own AR-15 style rifles. Of that 26 MILLION, only .00016% have actually committed crimes with that style of weapon. It makes no sense to punish millions of law-abiding citizens who own those style weapons, because mentally disturbed individuals commit crimes with them.
