We need a Constitutional Convention to address this since the courts could not accommodate state issues that affect national election laws and process.

Yes, and with MILLIONS of mail in ballots, if half the nation
requires the standard of NOTARIZED signatures requiring witnesses,
then that should be used. If other people don't require that, then this
is just extra protection for those who do require it.

millions that weren't notarized and could not be verified with
guaranteed accuracy as needed to measure margins as narrow as

There were still lawsuits pending over the mail-in ballots

There is no practical difference whatsoever. Both ballots are processed in the same way.

You just pointed out what is wrong with this system. All you are doing is counting the ballots as the same whether they are notarized and proven to be cast by the individual named, or filled out by other people.

As others pointed out, this is why all other countries don't use mail-in ballots, but require voting in person. Even inking each person's finger to ensure they only vote once!

Again, the big difference with THIS election was there were suddenly
a surge of MILLIONS more voters per state submitting ballots by mail
and/or absentee.

So with that huge change, we should have agreed on more secure standards
so we would avoid the disputes that occurred by NOT implementing
Notarization requirements and witnesses.

Even states that did not have these before, could have been required
to implement those requirements due to the MASSIVE increase
in voters using these methods IN THE MILLIONS which otherwise
could not be verified in such mass volumes!

This election was different due to COVID.

Some States could strengthen their security, other states may be strong enough already.

My low populated State is just fine as it is.... I request a ballot with no excuse needed.... my town mails me one, I mail one back.

There are all kinds of checks and balances for absentee ballot voting already in place...in most all States.

Before we rip the whole system apart, maybe we should find the problems first....if there are any?

My one possible concern is keeping voter rolls free from dead people..... each State uses their own method.....earlier this year I came across a State that does it well....They use the Social security death index each month to deactivate people in their precincts that die....that's pretty good for a method.

What would be best, is when a State issues a death certificate, they should notify the election offices to deactivate the dead voter.....

But I am not even certain dead people, requesting an absentee ballot, is even any kind n d of problem? I believe I had read that there was only 1 case for 2020 that was prosecuted, which was a Trump supporter that requested a ballot for his dead mother, and voted twice, for himself and in her place....He was caught, by the State's checks and balances in place..... charged with a felony.

No state election office, nor any legislator, wants people voting illegally or fraudulently and many procedures are in place already that prevents things like ballot stuffing, having more ballots counted than absentee ballot envelopes counted...throws a red flag, or having more envelopes returned, than the count of absentee ballots that were requested by voters, throws a red flag, etc.... so many little checks and balances are in the election counting procedures, before certification of the vote is even considered by any state.

Yes there were definitely problems with some states in the primaries mass mailing requests to all registered voters due to this pandemic.....

But making it harder for the citizen requesting a ballot to vote, is not the right approach to solving the problems the states had....

Most of these problems come from the precincts not keeping their own voter rolls updated and clean.

The voter should not be penalized or disenfranchised for the government's own self inflicted, inefficiencies...imo.

requires the standard of NOTARIZED signatures requiring witnesses,
then that should be used. If other people don't require that, then this
is just extra protection for those who do require it.

only by citizens legally eligible.

If that is the standard that taxpayers insist on,
it should be enforced.
