If the animals are cooked and eaten, why is it called sacrifice?
that's english. In english, the word "sacrifice" refers to the destruction of a living thing. The butchering of an animal is a "sacrifice" thereof. The cooking and eating part is called LUNCH

culling of a herd also calls for the "sacrifice" of
animals. Interestingly, when muslims kill an animal
for lunch, it is their custom to say "B'ISMILLAH"

that's why american is so much better ... whoever would think - sacrifice - in english - would refer to the destruction of living "things" and is the setting for their - lunch and party time. than you know who.
just to have a little fun only three times a year - a little spillt beans, who's looking ... its for the children.

language. It is entirely correct to say "two
chickens were sacrificed for Sunday Lunch---"
but mom need not slit their throats in the

Speaking of muslims and BLOOD "sacrifice", it is
clear that muslims have, in the course of their
history, consistently held the activity in HIGH
ESTEEM. Several years ago I attended a "muslim
art exhibition" sponsored by Saudi Arabia. It was
in close proximity to the MMA (metropolitan
museum of art) After hours of paintings of
"the madonna and child"-----I got treated to hours
of scimitars ---so well crafted to the purpose----
knocking off heads. SOMEHOW ??? "not blood
sacrifice" (uhm---the MMA also contains a
section on "jewish art"-----wine cups----one after
the other)
what did I miss? where does rylah imply that HE
is the center of the universe?
