My exception to chains is Texas Roadhouse...Above average food and drink at a fair price.I refuse to patronize those places unless they have a serious beer special or something.
Corporate cookie cutter restaurants, blech!

Historically Bern's had a jacket policy. You should be wearing a dress shirt, tie, and jacket, and really vest and jacket if you want to be 100% correct if you go there.upscale place.....not Mcdonalds where a hat on backward, PJ's and a ripped t-shirt are considered OK

Popular steakhouse's dress code sparks backlash as diners told to ditch hats or eat at the bar
Dress code policy by Ruth's Chris Steak House sparks viral debate as diners clash over "business casual" rules banning hats and tank tops from dining rooms.www.foxnews.com
A popular steakhouse is back in the spotlight over its dress code — and social media commenters have strong feelings about it.
Ruth's Chris Steak House is drawing fresh attention for its "business casual" dress code requiring "proper attire" — with diners who don't comply potentially relegated to the bar.
"Kindly remove all hats when entering the restaurant," its website states. "Guests wearing ball caps are asked to dine in the bar/lounge."
"The following attire is not permitted in our dining rooms: Gym wear, pool attire, tank tops, clothing with offensive graphics or language, revealing clothing or exposed undergarments," the notice continues.
While recent reports have framed the move as a crackdown, the policy has appeared on the restaurant's website for years, according to internet archives. This suggests the current debate may be driven more by recent enforcement — and viral social media discussion — than a new rule.
Meh, dress and act like an adult or stay home.....It used to be the rule everywhere.
Eat at Mickey Ds if you want to look like a ill-mannered slob.
Damned good bread too. Plus they don't care if you concealed carry. Outback does, so we no longer eat there. My exception to chains is Texas Roadhouse...Above average food and drink at a fair price.

All a la carte...Not for me, but the business model has worked for them.Great food, but I don't think I'll ever be able to afford it again.
I usually abscond with several cups of the honey cinnamon butter, to later slather on French toast as home.Damned good bread too. Plus they don't care if you concealed carry. Outback does, so we no longer eat there.

You can buy that in the grocery store now. I have a tub of it in my fridge.
Actually, I just went to the fridge and checked, it's Texas Roadhouse.

I never wear pants with holes in them and what’s wrong with wearing a t shirt to a steak house? How about bothering yourself to wearing clean pants without holes in them and a shirt with a collar?
