Ruth Chris Steakhouse enforces their dress code.....Finally

These days, I spend my days in superior courts where lawyers and judges will frequently, but not exclusively, dress to ensure the decorum of the court.

As for the accused who attend court, a few will dress appropriately to attempt to convince the court of their alleged respectability.

A few more will dress like they BELIEVE that respectable people should dress and fail miserably.

The vast majority just don’t give a damn what they wear and will look just like the guilty low lives that they are.
i have been on 4 juries including 1 federal case and i have never been in a courtroom were all the men on the juries had ties on like they show on some lawyer TV shows....

What you talkin' about? ;)

It's their business. They can set whatever dress code they want and people can abide by it or choose to spend their money elsewhere.

Not really a big deal.

Apparently this article is spreading across the internet like wildfire.
I'm seeing it all over the place.

What ever happened to companies enforcing the rules of social obligations in the first place?

If they want to be sticklers for their set rules, then THEY are responsible for ALLOWING themselves to SLACK OFF in the first place!!!!

Damned good bread too. Plus they don't care if you concealed carry. Outback does, so we no longer eat there.
I'm curious. How many shootouts have you had while getting a meal?

Must be a few.

edit...Oh, I get it. You're concerned about the shootouts you missed.

My bad.

No, you idiot. I hope to never get in a shootout. But a few years ago some crazy illegal shot up an IHOP down in Carson City and killed several people.

I refuse to go to any place that prohibits me carrying a concealed weapon. I don't want to ever find myself in a similar situation.

I never even heard of Ruth's Chris before this thread.....

Closest to me is 2 hours. Just because I looked them up.

$74 for a 16oz Ribeye. $13 for a baked potato. Too pricey for me.

If someone wants to dress up and go out, I guess it's good for a place for them to go.

I googled it, there's one downtown in y city, in the fanciest part of the downtown area

Not a place I'd ever go to

How can anyone possibly justify paying those prices?

A popular steakhouse is back in the spotlight over its dress code — and social media commenters have strong feelings about it.

Ruth's Chris Steak House is drawing fresh attention for its "business casual" dress code requiring "proper attire" — with diners who don't comply potentially relegated to the bar.

"Kindly remove all hats when entering the restaurant," its website states. "Guests wearing ball caps are asked to dine in the bar/lounge."

"The following attire is not permitted in our dining rooms: Gym wear, pool attire, tank tops, clothing with offensive graphics or language, revealing clothing or exposed undergarments," the notice continues.

While recent reports have framed the move as a crackdown, the policy has appeared on the restaurant's website for years, according to internet archives. This suggests the current debate may be driven more by recent enforcement — and viral social media discussion — than a new rule.

Meh, dress and act like an adult or stay home.....It used to be the rule everywhere.

Eat at Mickey Ds if you want to look like a ill-mannered slob.

Cruises have been famous for having dining dress codes. Not anymore. The last cruise I went on didn't--unbeknownst to me. I showed up for the evening meal with my jacket and tie and lined up behind some guy with sagging B-ball shorts and a tank top. No decorum anywhere anymore.

Depends on the cruise line. Viking was a minimum of business casual for dinner, at least on the river boats.

INversely I heard that Carnival is the equivalent of Golden Corral now.

This was Princess and I was comparing it to the same cruise line. Celebrity also had the same dress code. They are both subsidies of Royal Caribbean anyway.
