Russians conducted at least nine searches among representatives of the Jehovah's Witnesses religious organisation in temporarily occupied Crimea, and two house arrests were reported.

Source: Dmytro Lubinets, Ukrainian Parliament Human Rights Commissioner, on Telegram; a statement by the European Association of Jehovah's Witnesses

Details: Lubinets said that a Russian secret service searched the homes of Jehovah's Witnesses in Armiansk, Simferopol, Saky and Dzhankoi.

In total, the Russian Federation has opened more than 100 criminal cases against Crimeans on religious grounds, including 17 against Jehovah's Witnesses.

On 18 August, the European Association of Jehovah's Witnesses said that at least nine searches of members' homes took place on 14 and 16 August.

Quote: "In Simferopol, a search was conducted at the home of Kateryna Melnychuk. The woman felt sick, and her husband's blood pressure rose. Kateryna was informed that a criminal case had been opened against her and, after interrogation, was released on her own recognisance."

"In Armiansk, security forces searched the man's two homes. After that, he was taken for interrogation.

In the town of Saky, seven security officers in balaclavas, four of whom were armed, conducted a two-hour search of the house of a 62-year-old believer."

Details: The Association is also aware of searches of Dmytro Zakharevych in Simferopol. The court placed him and another believer under house arrest. Details of the searches in Dzhankoi are not yet available.

・In February 2023, the occupation court of Yalta sentenced four followers of the Church of Jehovah's Witnesses to various terms of imprisonment, accused of participating in the organisation and financing of an "extremist community".

・In October 2021, the so-called Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol illegally sentenced a follower of the Jehovah's Witnesses religious association, Ukrainian citizen Ihor Shmidt, to six years in a general regime prison.

So now we can add religious persecution to the long list of crimes committed by the Russian invaders against Ukrainian citizens.

We always need to start at the beginning before placing blame.

America lied to Russia about not moving Nato eastward. No discussion can ever find answers without acknowledging the reason for America's proxy war against Russia.

Russia in fact drew a line on the ground, to which America must not pass by, on threat of nuclear war.

And further to that, America has drawn a line with Article 5 that it would like to withdraw from now.

Once again, not a single word of truth in your post and not a single word that is relevant to post you responded to.

You're even more welcome to the debate than Mushroom. At least he was able to offer some factual talking points that are secondary to the main question that RFK junior exposed to America.

Do you think the Trump campaign has given them data on the JW? We know they gave the Russians data on Americans back in 2016

US says Russia was given Trump campaign polling data in 2016

WASHINGTON (AP) — It was one of the more tantalizing, yet unresolved, questions of the investigation into possible connections between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign: Why was a business associate of campaign chairman Paul Manafort given internal polling data — and what did he do with it?

A Treasury Department statement Thursday offered a potentially significant clue, asserting that Konstantin Kilimnik, a Russian and Ukrainian political consultant, had shared sensitive campaign and polling information with Russian intelligence services.

Kilimnik has long been alleged by U.S. officials to have ties to Russian intelligence. But the statement in a broader Treasury Department sanctions announcement was the first time the U.S. government had so directly drawn a connection from the Trump campaign to the Kremlin’s intelligence services. The revelation was all the more startling because it went beyond any allegation made in either special counsel Robert Mueller’s 2019 report or in an even more damning and detailed document released last year by the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The JWs are forbidden in Russia for a while now. Their regional centers were closed down and some activists jailed.

Somehow, the local Putinheads turned a blind eye on that event and didn't scream about Putin's persecution of the Christians.

Personally, I wouldn't feel any incentive to defend any Christian org, and much less so the JW cult!

I fully defend science's explanations on the threat of AGW. A much more worthy cause than superstitious beliefs by JW's who have pushed even the most absurd pseudo-Christian beliefs!

All 'organized' religion is not about faith, but about money and power.

And you were unable to offer anything relevant to the OP.
