"Ultimately, the FBI did not pay Steele. Communications between the bureau and the former spy were interrupted as Steele’s now-famous dossier became the subject of news stories, congressional inquiries and presidential denials, according to the people familiar with the arrangement, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter."
In other words he failed to dig up anything that could be verified, so he didn't get his payday. It's a shame the FBI has fallen so low.

I just read that the Liar in Chief met with the Russian Ambassador during the election, even though he has denied it many times. CAN THIS DUDE EVER TELL THE TRUTH?

The 35-page dossier was circulated in political and media circles in the United States but was not published for some time because the information could not be verified.
