While drinking together Matrosov found several videos of his six year old daughter being sexually abused by Sviridov on his phone. A Russian court concluded Matrosov "talked Sviridov into commiting suicide with a knife" after beating him severely and forcing him to dig his own grave in the forest, where his body was found.

Following a public outcry he's been released after doing 6 months of an 18 month sentence.

That is Russia. If it were Tennessee and the jury saw the videos, I doubt a jury of his peers would convict.
