American citizens could be in violation of many laws if they conspired or colluded with the Russians. The Russians might be in violation of treaty agreements. That is why there are investigations. A determination must be made as to whether laws were broken and what new laws are needed to protect against future interference. Except for at places like USMB and it's right wing posters, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone that does not agree that Russia interfered with the election.

They are in trouble for working with foreign entities to interfere with our election, meaning they helped outsiders interfere with the election in their own country. Do you not see the difference?
