Putin and Zelensky pretty much had a peace deal in April. Putin moved out of Kiev thinking the deal was made but Zelensky gave up on the peace deal - apparently because Boris told him too. Since then Putin has regularly been saying he would like negotiations but neither Zelensky nor Biden will have any of them. Without negotiations you cannot have peace.
