Well it's not looking good.
Russia has moved more than 5,000 armored vehicles and artillery into positions to close the Donbas pocket. I have been saying for a few weeks THIS IS THEIR MAIN OBJECTIVE.
Russia learned from US mistakes, they were never interested in decapitating the government like we did in Iraq and leave the army to disperse into the countryside to rise up later as an insurgency.
A more practical theory is that Russia hammered Kiev with a small contingent of its forces, to pin Ukrainian actions in specific areas and destroy internal lines of communication.
Now the Donbas pocket which contains about 300,000 Ukrainian soldiers/guardsmen and militia, are entirely surrounded.
And here come the Russians moving freely around the outside of the pocket.
