Romney to donate Salary if elected

Can anyone name just one wealthy politician who does likewise?

Didn't think so.

President John F. Kennedy

Too bad he wasn't still around and that today's democrats don't follow his example. How much did JFK donate of his income anyway? Just curious.

All of it. ($100,000 in 1961)

FYI...

George Washington (term 1789-1797) refused to accept a salary. At his first inauguration, George Washington added the “so help me God” to the end of the oath of office.

Herbert Hoover (1929-1933) donated all of his presidential salary to charity, and was the first of all presidents to donate his salary to charity.

John F. Kennedy (1961-1963) donated his salary to charity.

Barack Obama’s (2008-present) largest contributions to charity have been $50,000 to CARE, a poverty-based organization, and the United Negro College Fund. Mr. Obama also donated his $1.4 million Nobel Prize money, which he gave to 10 charities.

So do dat mean Romney gonna be the next FDR?...

... gonna turn his back on his rich New England establishment friends...

... an' gonna work to better the lot of the working man...

... like FDR did?
:eusa_eh:

I'll make you all a deal

If you elect me President, I will do the job for free

The claim that he'll donate his salary to charity is a joke, since he, like many of the super rich, already contribute a greater amount to charity. So how many presidents have we had that have the level of wealth that Romney does?

Well if his (Romney's) proposed deducton cap of $25,000 goes through he will only be able to write off less than 10% of that donated salary in his taxes ;)

And obama makes over a million a year in book sales and is worth multiple millions...........so yeah we already have a multi-millionaire in chief right now.

If it goes through, pigs will fly. Recall that he only released that proposal the day of the first debate. romney is not an honest person. He's a pathological liar.

Regardless, most of the super wealthy have always been philanthropists. Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and George Soros have all given most of their wealth to charities, in spite of the current limits on deductions. That won't change, regardless of whether the charitable deduction cap is reduced.

much of his milllions in donates are for the Mormons only.

Who on earth would he otherwise donate to?

His whole life has been dedicated to a church that teaches people to help themselves [their families] and then help others.

You Looney Lefties will do everything possible to find anything you can in order to turn attention to the failures of your beloved Barry Hussein.

Maybe we should just award the Presidency to the highest bidder

Since I brought it up and you think, like I do, that it will be very difficult to impliment......would you support Romney's idea to limit all deductions to your first $25,000 of deductible items?
