Punk is my favorite music genre, and is characterized by its subversive nature and political/social themes.
I thought it would be interesting to start a thread with two subgenres of punk music with messages that many on this site will find abominable, but that is kind of the point of punk music though.
Queercore is a form of punk music that focuses on LGBT rights, gender identity, and alternative sexual preferences.
Riot Grrrl is the feminist punk rock genre. Common themes include patriarchy, matriarchy, sexual empowerment, and rape.
