The trans issue is a proxy for the homophobia that fell out of favor among the general populace. Just like the idea that being so is a choice a person makes.

The fact is that both homosexuality and being trans is found throughout history and being bigoted towards it is the "acquired behavior", I know very few examples of people who stopped being gay or trans. However entire portions of the world have had different views of it throughout history.

The actual issue is tolerance vs. forced acceptance or even celebration.

Some people see homosexuality as sinful, and the trans issue as ignoring reality.

They are actually two different issues.

Professional sports is not a level playing field, in fact, it's precisely having extraordinary abilities that makes you successful. Now, I for one, don't consider A FEW isolated cases of trans people competing in professional sports important enough to legislate and marginalize an entire group of people. Nor do I think A FEW isolated cases competing and MAYBE being successful (you didn't give an example of records being broken) ruins an entire sport.
