Remember these are the ones that were reported, crime experts say most go unreported, the total number may be 200,000 per year. I never reported my attack. It occurred when I was a young man in Omaha back in the '80s. Another friend was attacked a few weeks earlier he went to the police about it and they quizzed him they said what did you do to deserve that. That's why I didn't go to the police. I knew it was hopeless at that time. Hopefully young gay people don't have to go through the same shit anymore. It got me to thinking how many rednecks how many white supremacists are in police enforcement where they shouldn't be at all. Hopefully they've improved too and gotten rid of all the bad apples in their ranks.
