Governor Rick Snyder (R-Mich.) and his Republican Reich will enact a law that would impose "financial martial law" upon struggling communities in the form of "financial managers" that would have the power to abrogate contracts at will and supersede the democratic process. There's been a lot of recent media attention focused on a similar disregard for the public will in Wisconsin, but what's happening in Michigan really makes Scott Walker look like an amateur.
Michigan Set To Enact Sweeping 'Financial Martial Law' Bill
Michigan lawmakers are on the verge of approving a bill that would enable the governor to appoint "emergency managers" -- officials with unilateral power to make sweeping changes to cities facing financial troubles.
Under the legislation, the Michigan Messenger reports, the governor could declare a "financial emergency" in towns or school districts. He could then appoint a manager to fire local elected officials, break contracts, seize and sell assets, eliminate services - and even eliminate whole cities or school districts without any public input.

if a democrat did this cons would wet their panties and run around shrilly screeching about facist liberal nazi communists
I have no doubt that, since it is a repub doing it, they'll EXPLAIN to us why it is a "good thing"
So much for democracy under the republican ideals
How many czars does obama have to circumvent democracy?
Well Jethro, I'll take everything back, all you have to do is provide the Article and Section of the Constitution that gives a Governor the power to to fire local elected officials, break contracts, seize and sell assets, and eliminate services.
This should be easy Jethro, Republicans are strict Constitutionalists.
Considering all local powers are delegated by the State, why wouldn't the Governor and other state officials have the ability to take back the power they previously delegated?
"The United States shall guarantee to every state in the union a republican form of government"
I don't see how it is constitutional to fire elected officials.
Will the managers wear brown shirts?
Same thing...I don't see how it is constitutional to fire elected officials.
Will the managers wear brown shirts?
The issue is whether it's "firing" them or whether they are reorganizing government as to make that position not longer exist.

Well, you can quote the Constitution. Be nice if it was at all relevant to our discussion.

Please explain to us why you are cool with obama having the same thing at the federal level.
Or is it different?
Actually it is. States are allowed to do things that the Fed shouldn't even think about.
So why are the libs pissed off now, when they weren't when they were ok with it?
I don't see how it is constitutional to fire elected officials.

Just because you're completely ignorant of the concept of dual sovereignty and how the federal Constitution in general -and Article 4, Section 4 in particular- don't apply, that's your problem.Very true, and post justification from some obscure blog or silly source (see Odd-dude above).

He wouldn't need to change the law if he already had the power to fire elected officials, moron.I don't see how it is constitutional to fire elected officials.

Find a link to the MI state Constitution, find in it where it says the gov is not allowed emergency powers.
brown shirts?
Shame on you.

Maybe you should just stick to the emotionally unhinged, epithet-peppered diatribes.
