I have voted Republican in every presidental election except one. But what I am seeing from the GOP state legislators is insane.
Wisconsin State representative Donna Rozar thinks there can be "positive outcomes" in rape situations. And wants rape victims to see the "bright side".
A republican legislator voted against providing free or reduced cost school lunches because "yet to meet a person in Minnesota that is hungry.".
And last, but certainly not least, the Oklahoma State legislature failed to pass a bill that would protect disabled students from corporal punishment. In other words, they think it is fine to hit a disabled student.
43 GOP state legislators voted against the bill.
This is certainly not the GOP I spent years supporting.

Oklahoma House fails bill protecting disabled kids from corporal punishment
Scripture was not the only reason for the defeat of House Bill 1028, by Rep. John Talley, but Rep. Jim Olsen's lengthy discourse on "spare-the-rod-and-spoil-the-child" theology was consistent with many arguments on the House floor.
