Republicans: Please tell us again how your party is the party of family values and the party that cares about women, children and families? Then tell us how many 16 year old kids that you have encountered were emotionally, intellectually and financially ready to be a parent and a spouse.
And I am willing to bet that a good many of these teenagers who are getting married are girls who are coerced into marrying older men. What the fuck is wrong with these republicans?

And why?
Abortion! OK, Abortion is not a good thing but this kids are just not ready to start a family. American Taliban: Led by conservative Christians, Republican lawmakers in Idaho vote down legislation that would have ended child marriage in the state.
Earlier this week, Idaho legislators voted down a bill that would have blocked marriage for children under the age of 16.
And why?
Opponents to the bill argued that it would result in too much government and judicial oversight. Some also cited the state’s abortion laws, which allow a girl under the age of 18 to get an abortion with the consent of one parent or a judge.
Speaking on the House floor against the bill, State Rep. Christy Zito, a Republican, said:
If we pass this legislation, it will then become easier in the state of Idaho to obtain an abortion at 15 years old than it will to decide to form a family and create a family for a child that has been conceived.
