Republicans in Congress are eager for Trump to expand his use of the military on US soil

It’s not just Trump, Republicans are just as complicit, just as much advocates of the authoritarian Trump regime, just as much enemies of the Constitution and rule of law.
The Constitution lost its validity when Lincoln refused to remove American troops from a foreign country in 1861. He went on to further destroy the document before FDR put the nail in its coffib.

Democratic forms if governance have failed in this country, as anyone with basic common sense knew they would. Only a truly Authoritarian government will be able to save this nation from total demise. I, for one, welcome the troops with open arms.

The teacher's unions pump millions upon millions of dollars into the campaigns of liberal politicians and in return those liberal politicians give them whatever the heck they want. THOSE are the teacher's unions "advocates"! It's a you scratch my back...I'll give you millions and indoctrinate the young for you as a bonus, advocacy.
You don't think other unions do the same? Personally, I don't like unions influence in the Democratic party, but it is what it is.

In 2004 the teachers unions donated a little over $4,000,000 to political campaigns (94% of which was given to Democrats). In 2020 that amount had soared to over $54,000,000 (97% of which was given to Democrats). I'm sorry, Admiral but the other unions are NOT doing what the teacher's unions have done! It's not even close. What disturbs me most about those numbers is that according to PEW only about 58% of teachers identify as liberal...yet the mandatory dues of the other 42% support only Democrat candidates!

Why are you stating the obvious? The current leadership of the NEA and AFT suck balls! However, the local unions do a pretty damn good job at ensuring teachers get due process in cases of alleged misconduct. Most teachers, in my experience, would prefer not to even have a union represent them in contract negotiations, because without the right to strike, the union is a toothless tiger. They get to say, "Please, sir, may I have some more?" and the district simply says, "No, you may not, and you will like whatever we give you!" How do you think teacher nationwide are the second worst paid government profession?

Teachers have the right to collective bargain in 34 States, Admiral. But let's be honest here...why would you ever need to strike when your "bosses" were put in power because of the millions of dollars that you contributed to their election campaigns? Like THOSE guys are going to play hardball with you? Come on, get serious!

As for the pay? How many of those other jobs came with months off each summer? Get your Masters in Education and you get paid more and again lets be honest, you'd be hard pressed to find an easier Master's degree to achieve!

Here's an easy trick to keep Donald Trump from sending the National Guard to your city:

You are confused by your ignorance of terminology. Collective bargaining, yes! Right to strike? No!

The months off each summer has been debunked so many times it is no longer funny.

I have a master's degree in education, and I attended class every night, 4 days a week, while teaching all day and then grading homework at night for 2 and half years. My pay raise was $700 a month. That degree allowed me to get promoted to administration where I earned less as an assistant principal in Florida than as a teacher when I later went to work for the Department of Defense.

Walk a mile in my shoes and then tell me how easy it was!

I believe 12 US States give public employees the right to strike...in addition to the 34 that allow collective bargaining. You might want to get your facts straight before you accuse others of ignorance.

Where did I say otherwise, dumbass? They are most likely in deep blue states, correct? They also happen to be in states where the average teacher pay is much higher.

I have a master's in educational leadership and 21 years classroom experience! I know what I am talking about. You do not, obviously!

That would be YOU saying otherwise! In your LAST post! Who's the "dumbass"? LOL

Seems like yesterday we heard extremists on the Left calling for defunding police forces across the nation, having social workers de escalate crimes, not prosecuting retail theft, reducing criminal punishments. What did that get us?

Brilliant...now listen for the crickets

Perhaps if Democrats stop embracing criminals and punish the victims, then Trump won't deploy the military.

Collective bargaining does not include the right to strike. Neither of the states where I worked had the right to strike but we had collective bargaining rrights.you don't understand the difference.

Youare the dumbass on this topic.

"National Guard troops patrolling the streets of U.S. cities. Weapons of war deployed against international gangs suspected of drug trafficking. Military bases and resources redirected to mass immigration enforcement operations.

Trump is swiftly implementing his vision of the military as an all-powerful tool for his policy goals. It’s ground that presidents have hardly ever crossed outside of times of war, and experts say it’s remaking the role of the most powerful military in the world and its relationship with the American public.

Yet as Trump has dramatically stepped up his use of military force, fellow Republicans in Congress — where authorization for such actions is supposed to originate — have done little but cheer him on. That’s giving the president significant leeway as he raises plans to send troops next to Chicago, Baltimore and New Orleans."

In 2003, sociologist Devah Pager sent a shockwave through the employment world with an audit study that revealed a brutal truth about American hiring practices.1 Setting out to discover the effects of having a criminal record on employment, she found something that made national news: Black men without a criminal background were called back for interviews at about the same rate as white men with felony convictions on their applications.

This wasn't about criminal justice—it was about deeply embedded racial bias in hiring. Two decades later, has anything changed?

The answer, according to the latest research, is a resounding "No."

Notice the date this article was pubished. Not 1925, 1965, but this year. A white felon has the same chance of getting job as a black college grduate. A white --- can drop out of school in the 8th grade, sell drugs, go to prison, get released with a felony on his record and have the same chance of gettig a job as a black college graduate. So STFU white man, you don't know wtf you're talking about and it is time people like you shut your damn mouths and started listening. Stop using one city or one black person to make claims about all black peopler. David Duke exists so I guess that means all whites are racists.
degrees in sociology and race studies aren't in demand ..

You're the dumb ass that didn't seem to know that teachers in 12 States DO have the right to strike! :)

Remember when Trump was all for states' rights? Wasn't long ago, was it? Now he's totally against states' rights.
