Republicans Are Trying to Steal the 2026 Midterm Elections

:itsok:

Actually the Texas redistricting is required by Article I section 2 of the US constitution and Article III section 28 of the Texas constitution. It's not cheating and is not some Republican cheap trick. It's the law.
They normally do it after a census.

i dont have a party but your party lied to the whole country about biden health and then tried to cover it up... so dont get to cocky fancy...
Look who's lying about Trump now?
Trump has had mental issues his entire life.
You people think it's normal.

of course you didnt see that....geezus fancy why did they push this guy aside who was as sharp as a tack?.....why were we not told about our presidents health problems?....fancy you are acting just like you say maga does with trump....no difference....

The party that fantasizes about stolen elections and routinely accuses the other side of cheating, is now doing just that. What Texas is attempting to do is a cheap trick. It should be illegal and struck down by the courts. This is a subversion of democracy. The voters should be choosing their representatives, not the other way around. If they are successful in this endeavor it may very well trigger "redistricting wars" in which the parties that have total control of a state draw up the most egregious gerrymanders they can to counter the opposition in other states. The result of this will be less competitive elections, voter disenfranchisement, and lower participation.

Texas GOP lawmakers released their first draft of the state’s new congressional map Wednesday, proposing revamped district lines that attempt to flip five Democratic seats in next year’s midterm elections.

The new map targets Democratic U.S. House members in the Austin, Dallas and Houston metro areas and in South Texas. The draft, unveiled by state Rep. Todd Hunter, R-Corpus Christi, will likely change before the final map is approved by both chambers and signed by Gov. Greg Abbott. Democrats have said they might try to thwart the process by fleeing the state.

This unusual mid-decade redistricting comes after a pressure campaign waged by President Donald Trump’s political team in the hopes of padding Republicans’ narrow majority in the U.S. House.

Currently, Republicans hold 25 of Texas’ 38 House seats. Trump carried 27 of those districts in 2024, including those won by Democratic U.S. Reps. Henry Cuellar of Laredo and Vicente Gonzalez of McAllen.

Hey, remember when the fbi and teh cia worked to together to suppress an imporant news story during an election?

NO MERCY.

of course you didnt see that....geezus fancy why did they push this guy aside who was as sharp as a tack?.....
See, you don't have a party?
BS.
"Sharp as a tack"?
Who told you that?
why were we not told about our presidents health problems?
They still aren't telling us what Trump has been suffering from before 2016.
What didn't they tell you about Biden?
....fancy you are acting just like you say maga does with trump....no difference....
Not even close.

Trump is fine............LOL.

Thread creation, shouldn't the thread title match the information in the link as opposed to being your conclusion/thoughts 🤔

I searched your link and Steal was nowhere to be found. So insinuating the republicans are stealing, does that break the clean start rule?

I can see where there might be some gripes about the lines in the Californianized urban centers, but out here in Texas these new districts are, to the extent population allows, a hell of a lot more compact and sensable.

California is going to gerrymander five to seven GOP districts. No way it can be stopped. That will take care of the GOP's gerrymandering in Texas.

With MAGA mad at Trump over Epstein, no one has any idea what will happen in the elections next year.
Get serious, Qdog. MAGA loves Trump. Everyone knows that this Epstein list is just the Democrat's latest fabrication to muddy the waters for the midterms. That's because everything about the Democrat's positions sucks. You can't run on defund the police, let boys in the girl's bathrooms, sex change for 10 year olds, open borders, guys competing in girls sports and free sex change operations for military personnel, etc. Anyway, if Trump was implicated in any wrongdoing with Epstein, Democrats would have nailed him years ago. This is just another Russia, Russia, Russia deal.

California has a law preventing it from happening, Texas does not have a law like that.

There has been a major population shift in Texas since the last census as Americans flee Democrat authoritarianism, oppression and blatant institutional racism in blue states like Kalifornia and Illinois. Caterpillar left Illinois for Texas. Space X, Tesla and Chevron left Kalifornia for Texas.

Since the 2020 census, Texas has gained over 2 million people. That's over a 7% increase in population in just a few years. Most of them migrating to urban and suburban areas.

Redistricting is the very prudent, fair, democratic, timely and commendable action to take right now to avoid unnecessarily and unfairly disenfranchising many Texans.

Both parties are guilty of this. It is called gerrymandering.
