The Book: "Grid: Fraying Wires of America's Energy Future" is a great book, but scathing about the idiocy of Republican policies.

Republicans just do not understand how to develop a modern nation. They don't understand the complexity of future power production, nor do they understand the needed LEGAL changes for these developments to occur. The current US hodgepodge of Electric companies, a product of "private ownership" meeting collective needs in a system that is dependent upon complete faith of the behavior of other actors....is a failing system.

Currently the US system has 6 hours of outages per year.

Compared to other OECD countries that is laughable:

Japan: 11 minutes
Italy: 56 minutes
Germany 15 minutes
France 12 minutes

And so on...

And whose fault is it? Republicans. Who refuse to allow changes to their archaic system of control and profit.

Is it by building windmills, instead of nuke plants?
