Republican tax cut will not trickle down

It's a good thing for all that the left are a bunch of liars every day all the time. that means that everything they say is wrong and this will trickle down and the economy will continue to improve. History has shown this to be true.

Time to celebrate!
Sure. Time for a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage.

Wrong direction. Trickle up never works.

Sure it does

Put money in the hands of consumers

The rich are consumers, and when they spend $$ they spend a lot of it, that gives work to a lot of people.

What progressives hate is that when taxes go down the money flow is in the hands of the people, not in the hands of the usually progressive government program people.

That and their jealousy of people with more stuff than them.

When you look at spending as a percent of total wealth...they spend very little
That is why focusing wealth at the top does very little

But we aren't taxing total wealth, we are taxing income here. If they keep more of their income, which is liquid, they may be more apt to spend it.

Including non-liquid assets in this conversation doesn't work.

Put money in the hands of consumers

All the money you give to consumers by force, such as $15 minimum wage, is negated by the increased cost of production and inflation from all that money circulating. It doesn’t work, it’s simple economics.

A small percentage of the workforce works for minimum wage
It would have minimal affect on inflation

History has shown that with past increases

I am talking about what happens when you put extra money in the hands of the middle class vs the wealthy
The middle class will spend it ( benefitting the economy) while the wealthy will hoard it

So the wealthy throw no parties, buy no cars, no yachts?

They donate nothing?

Again, your real issue is the money chain is outside government control when taxes are lower.

And the middle class is getting a cut here, despite progressive mewling to the contrary.

What they never told the public about 'trickle-down' economics back in the 80s when it was first tried is that the trickle coming down is the wealthy pissing on the middle class and poor.

Trickle down is just another examples of Conservative proposing policy that they think should work because it sounds good in their head but in reality doesn't work at all.

Why won't a fifteen dollar an hour minimum wage not improve the standard of living of labor?

More people spending more money creates demand.

Because the increased cost of production caused by increased wages plus the increased inflation due to higher earnings will negate any meager benefit to the recipients of the increase. If your theory of economics worked we could just make every person in the US earn a million dollars and no one would be poor right?

The Republican tax cuts won't trickle down, CEO writes in scathing op-ed

It's not a surprise to Todd Carmichael, co-founder and CEO of La Colombe Coffee Roasters in Philadelphia.

"I can tell you what no other CEO wants to tell you," Carmichael writes in an op-ed in The Philadelphia Inquirer: "A half-trillion dollars of corporate tax giveaways proposed by the GOP aren't going to do a thing for the middle class, or create a single job. Because what every CEO knows but won't tell you is this: A tax break for their company simply means a fatter bottom line. Not jobs. Not investment." CEOs have "a powerful fiduciary duty to return all profits to shareholders — not to the employees, or the suppliers, or the community and certainly not to the unemployed or left behind," he explained. "Profit goes to shareholders (and the CEO) and not to the employees."

Just like when we cut taxes before. Cut taxes on the wealthy........and they just keep it
There is NOTHING in the past that gives this deluded republican tax plan a leg to stand on Amazing !!The party of cutting deficits increases them again

Inflation happens regardless. Only the right wing has a problem when it may benefit the poor.

Not at all true. The right wing benefits the poor every single time it lowers taxes. The DNC never ever benefits the poor.

That position would make sense if profits werent a record highs while at the same time corporations pay record low taxes.
Added to that, wages as percentage of GDP is now at 43 percent. In 2000 it was 47%, and in the 60's it was 50%.

Irrelevant. Hey, if you were right we could make everyone earn a million a year. Problem solved right?

Great point, Obamacare was designed to help the rich get health insurance.

Solid analysis Billy Bob.

The worker is getting a smaller and smaller piece of the pie

The left seems to think that the only way the rich can give the poor and middle class anything from the tax breaks is by actually handing them cash. The don’t or won’t think about the new jobs, or the increase in wages. The left doesn’t want reduced taxes to succeed, and they will never admit it when it does, which is always.

Lame assed attempt at a “gotcha”, lame, stupid, and irrelevant. Strike three you are out moron.

What they really want is the money funneled through government, increasing GOVERNMENT jobs which gives them more vote clout, as most of these people are 100% progressive.

Which will reduce buying power across the board, thus making people desire more money.....and the cycle goes on.

It’s irrelevant and your response is even worse. The worker gets his piece of the pie. It’s not the rich’s fault that they make the pie bigger and bigger. You wants bigger piece of the pie? Earn it.

Actually, I would like to see more money funneled directly to the workers through increased salaries
