I haven't attended an Ivy league school either....like Michelle,.... so technically she has no reason to be ashamed , unless she is a racist who doesn't appreciate her good fortune.

What McCain said pretty much revolves around the conduct of the current administration , not the country in general. Michelle wasn't proud to be an American by any stretch, but if you asked McCain if he's proud to be one, he would say yes regardless of his shame over Obama's actions or lack thereof. This memo was signed in 1994 by the UK, Russia, the US and Ukraine as part of the deal the removed the nuclear weapons of the former Soviet Union from the territory of the newly independent Ukraine (aside, I bet they wish they had kept them now).
