Repeal the 22nd Amendment and the 17th, too.

Farmers pay a fraction of the taxes that urban people. Such much so, that people like Trump designate part of their property as "farmland" in order to save on their taxes.

They still pay taxes. And they still provide economic benefit, and they feed the urban masses.

The compromise held up until the CIVIL WAR, made it no longer necessary.

Yep, and the 14th made the mistake of removing another compromise at the State level that should be restored.

They call them laws. They say "the laws of New York City"

And North Korea calls itself the "democratic" peoples republic of Korea.

Only the state legislature can create a felony.

Yes, the New York City Council can create laws that impact the criminal justice system, but the legislature is responsible for codifying crimes as felonies

They are still laws.

Again, why go with the semantics?

But they pay a fraction of the taxes that Urban people pay.

The taxes on 100 urban acres, could purchase 100 rural acres.

And having them all there is a bad idea.
It's better to buy local, but not necessary.

It's like when there is a strike, and people suddenly realize they can get the strikers goods or services from somewhere else.

Sorry, but equal protection is the law. You're no longer allowed to give special favors to people.

Such as JD Vances idea that parents should be able to vote for their children, and thus cast multiple ballots, or have their ballot counted multiple times.

Bad idea.

So get rid of all American farm capacity?

Great idea, dippy.

Worse idea is mob rule, which is what you Demtwats want.

Except….

The rural can cast laws over the urban cities.

I honestly don’t know what the solution is but it has become way unbalanced as we’ve moved from fear of “tyranny of the majority” to an actual tyranny of tbe minority and this is showing up as a number of laws that are not supported by the majority who are affected.
Ohh BULLSHIT. My birth state is a fine example. Seattle metropolitan area controls the entire state. The eastern part is conservative but has almost no say in anything because of Seattle. I stayed in North Carolina when I retired from the Marine Corps cause Washington is California light because of Seattle.

Not when we have a global economy.

Produce: The majority of fruits and vegetables come from Mexico and South America.
Meat and fish: Canada is the largest supplier of meat and fish.
Tropical products: The U.S. imports coffee, cocoa, and rubber.

And rely on the world for food
The United States imports about 15% of its food supply, but the percentage of imported food has been increasing in recent years:
2008–2022: The percentage of imported food and beverages increased from 12.4% to 17.3%.
Fruits and nuts: Nearly 60% of fruits and nuts consumed in the U.S. are imported.
Milled grains and oils: 57.4% of milled grains and oils consumed in the U.S. are imported.
Sweeteners: 45% of sweeteners consumed in the U.S. are imported.
Vegetables: 40.4% of vegetables consumed in the U.S. are imported.
Seafood: 70–85% of seafood consumed in the U.S. is imported.
From which urban centers do all of those products come?

Sure Farmers pay taxes
They also receive generous subsidies

Nice of the government to want to keep its citizens fed economically.

Of course some of those economics are impacted by the layers of regulations created by said government.
