Yes they do. In my experience they’re also one of the groups most often mistaken for illegals by the general public.
You’re also right that a drivers license doesn’t prove citizenship. A Real ID does. You must prove citizenship and residency in order to get one. In fact it basically mirrors the US Passport requirements.

I would love it if they added firearms licensing and other state/federal credentials to the Real ID as well.

I learned many years ago that as bad as Government decisions generally are… they’re generally better in the long run than the choices made by individual human beings. I don’t like the Government but trust my fellow human beings decision making skills even less.
