Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee dead at 74

A person that put her political party before her country. R.I.P.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), who served in Congress for nearly three decades, has died at the age of 74, her office announced Friday evening.

“Today, with incredible grief for our loss yet deep gratitude for the life she shared with us, we announce the passing of United States Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of the 18th Congressional District of Texas,” her family wrote in a statement shared to her account on X.

I guess her staff won't get yelled at any more. RIP and all that. I don't know a lot about her politics.

confucius blessing lib blessing.webp

I could be wrong but doesn't the governor name her replacement?

That would be the case in I think 36 states. The other 14, including Texas, require a special election and with less than six months to the end of her term, I doubt they will try to put one together. Sheila Jackson Lee represented the 18th Congressional District in Texas, a pretty much gerrymandered district that is predominantly black and Hispanic. I think almost half her constituency spoke English as a second language if at all.

I'm sure both parties are scrambling now to get someone qualified to run for her seat but I would guess the odds are strong that a Democrat will be elected to replace her.

I would guess she likely did but she died of advanced pancreatic cancer that was diagnosed at stage four. I'm confident the COVID vaccination(s) had nothing to do with that.
medical stats say otherwise, time will tell

and a temporary replacement would be named by___________________________________?

She wasn't my cup of tea, but I'll put her record of achievement against Jim Jordon, Matt Gaetz, MTG, Comer, or any other extreme MAGA in Congress.

And they would all lose. Badly.

Again the Texas governor cannot replace a vacated congressional seat. It as to be via special election and since there is less than six months remaining in this congressional session, it is unlikely they'll bother with a special election but candidates will instead vie for a full two-year term.

Anti-Trump till the end, her final tweet mentioned him...

I know whom she's going to be voting for! :auiqs.jpg:

Many years ago the tobacco industry was telling people to stick a cigarette in their mouths and puff smoke into their bodies from it. They were advertising it as being the sexy and adult thing one must do. However it was doing nothing but killing and harming.

They managed to trick many into getting a COVID-19 vaccine by using the mantra "safe and effective" when it really is dangerous ad deadly.

Back when smoking was more popular, life spans were relatively short; people died from diseases like Typhus, diphtheria, smallpox, cholera, etc. Nobody cared about smoking, as few lived long enough to get cancer. Living past 50 was reserved for a privileged few.

Just a fact. It is also a fact that due to the massive immigration to the U.S. after 1820 the average height and lifespans of working and middle class whites both declined by over 15%. We will see the same thing again soon, thanks to Biden's flooding the country with illegal aliens.

Yea, that and the COVID jab killing so many with turbo cancers. The doctors can't seem to be able to treat cancers any more; not when they are turbo.
