Remember “No Tax on Overtime”?

Yes because it’s been how’s it’s defined since the 1930s

I don't know if I'd go that far.

I can agree there is a technical understanding and a common usage understanding. Those an HR/Payroll/Finance understand that "Overtime Pay" is Straight Pay + 50% Overtime Pay. While laymen can reasonable assume that "overtime" is one lump amount.

Technically the "Overtime Rate" (rate not pay) is defined as a blended rate considering all pays by the same employer with the overtime rate then applyed to the blended rate. To determine the blended rate you take the weighted average of hours worked and then apply the 1.5 multiplier to that. What that means the overtime rate of pay isn't determined by the work performed during the additional hours, the rate is based on the weighted average of all work performed.

This was all noted when passed. With Trump there is always a catch.
How’s it a catch? It’s been defined by federal law since the 1930s

The fact you and candycorn weren’t smart enough to know that or for that matter didn’t have the life experience to know that basic fact, is not trumps fault

It’s your own

The Fair Labor Srandards Act was passed in 1938

So yes it’s been defined since the 30s

Yeah.

If you’re offered another shift to work and you make $20 an hour, you don’t think you’re making $160, you think you’re making $240 ($30 X 8 hours). If someone tells you there is no tax on overtime (as the blob did) you think that $240 is tax free. In reality, only the $80 is tax free. I’ll take it...but it was misrepresented. Americans are seeing that this tax season. Hopefully they’ll remember in November.
Like their dear leader they can't remember shit, even if they do, they change, like a weather vane did in the last 5 minutes.

I don't disagree.

I was talking about technical usage (those in the profession based on the FLSA) and laymen (those unfamiliar with the law).

so youre ignorant,,

no all of your pay is not taxed at the higher rate,, just the amount over the new rate is taxed at the higher rate,,
LOL.
You're FOS,and a moron as usual.

There is no amount of pay, that taxes are increased on a pay period.
The taxes are the same, you ******* idiot.

OT is $30.
People (barely literate), like yourself) are unbelievably ignorant. I would bet you think that 2 plus 2 is 5. Trump initiated a policy of no tax on overtime. He did not, repeat, did not suggest no tax on hourly pay. Get That? The overtime pay of $10.00 is what does not get taxed, just the $20.00 regular pay. God Almighty, get a clue

This is what the Trump Haters do. They create stupid distractions with baseless accusations to tear down the only pro-American President we've had since Reagan.
The problem here is over course candycorn, like a lot of Dems, are ignorant to the law and thought they knew something, when of course they didn’t

Now he just exposed himself as the idiot we all knew he was
