Sounds great to me but we are nowhere near that. The best way the President and the Democrats can end fossil fuel is to bring viable alternative energy to market. Otherwise, if they are going to first hurt fossil fuel with policies then they need to be willing to pay the political outcome.
Unless and until they figure out how to replace the 10,000 plus goods manufactured from petroleum not related to fuels, that is an impossibility.

What would the be expected to do with the fuels left over from refining everything else, pump it back into the ground?

1).
America was originally built upon destroying the current occupants.
Native Americans and Mexicans.

2).
Then, America was rebuilt by Foreigners (immigrants) entering this land.

3).
Now, (R) or Right Wingers want to protect the belief that they are the rightful occupants.
The rules are made by the victors. Try studying some real history. The Indians were tribal and fractured. They warred amongst themselves as well. Many were helpful to the Continental Army however, some tribes sided with Tories and attacked settlements. You have a very simplistic understanding of American History.

Virtually every country on earth that exists today was built on the rubble of civilizations they conquered to take that land to begin with so what is your point?
And you have a PROBLEM with todays invaders.
But they aren't trying to overthrow the government, they just want to work in the field and do the jobs that you won't.

If only that were the case. Most of them today are coming for welfare benefits.

That's what you get, a titanic shift in the quality of immigrants who want to come when instead of jobs they are offered welfare.

My problem as always is with unsecure borders and uncontrolled immigration.

We haven't had a need to import unskilled workers to the US for more than half a century.

With range of over 200 miles between charges, most owners will only charge once a week and at night when electric consumption is at its lowest.

Many homeowners will also invest in solar panels to charge their cars for free
For free? When was the last time you priced a system capable of charging such a vehicle?

120v ac... . not 12v DC.

If they didn't undercut the wages so much, those jobs would would be snapped up by Americans. You forget, these people come here, live communally and are able to work for peanuts. Also, a lot of them send American $$$ back home where they have more purchasing power.

And that same shit ^^^^ happened under trump too.
SFO
Trump actually did something about it after finally getting past all the lawsuits Democrats filed to keep the border open.

Illegal entries more than tripled During Biden's first year.

We once had to repo an FmHA home. It was a 3 bedroom with a total of 16 adults and a dozen kids living there, all illegals.

An entire family will often share a single small bedroom.

16 adults? Assume just 5 were capable of working...
Projected 10-year growth: -6% (2014)
Number of jobs: 761,700 (2014)
The average salary for a farm worker is $15.71 per hour in the United States.
Assuming these 5 workers worked 40 hours a week on 200 hours X $15.71 or $3,142/week or over $12,000/mo.
and there are 16 adults, 12 kids 28 people living there What happened to the $12,000/month?

1). America was originally built upon destroying the current occupants.
WRONG AS USUAL, Winny. America was built upon exploring and settling a new continent they discovered largely vacant to which there were a few neolithic tribes scattered here and there to coexist and barter with.

2). Then, America was rebuilt by Foreigners (immigrants) entering this land.
Stupid as usual, Winny. America was increasingly settled with the Europeans who discovered it as the colonies developed and more land was largely bartered from the Indians and Spaniards or won from the Mexicans.

3). Now, (R) or Right Wingers want to protect the belief that they are the rightful occupants.
We are. Just as with the Indians until we came along, we are now the last ones to rule over the land, and to the strongest goes the spoils. That is the law of nature: the strongest talk and the conquered walk. Live it, love it, learn it.

In 2020, there were 286.9 million cars registered in America.
In 2020, while the US grid had 1,117.5TW of utility electricity capacity and 27.7GW of solar, according to the US Energy Information Administration.

If all the cars were EVs charging at 7kW, they would need 2,008.3TW – nearly twice the grid capacity.

(NOTE... Total current US grid capacity:1,244TWs:
Required charging: 2,008.3TW and remember that's assuming ONLY
cars are charging...
what about your
refrigerator , A/C , TV, Internet...all use electricity including the factories processing your food!)
If they charged at 50kW, they would need 14,345TW – 12.8 times the capacity.
SO FOLKS... If we were all electric cars today...
A typical electric car (60kWh battery) takes just under 8 hours to charge from empty-to-full with a 7kW charging point. Most drivers top up charge rather than waiting for their battery to recharge from empty-to-full. For many electric cars, you can add up to 100 miles of range in ~35 minutes with a 50kW rapid charger.Nov 11, 2021
Great, so you see the challenges we have in front of us...

Technology is improving everyday... Now cars can take 200 miles in <20min at high end chargers... High end charges in EU now are 150kw to 200kw...
Costs of the EV are coming down...

Europe is a good bit ahead here and they are rolling out the infrastructure as the increase in the sale of the cars... Europe has massive wait lists on EV..

Loads of challenges but good organisation and positive approach will get us a long way..

Left Wingers never think ahead.
They are shallow and dumb.
They think that they are saving the planet from the imaginary man-made global warming "existential threat", but they are doing more harm to the planet and starving people, and causing wars, and mass immigration.
You presume that lithium tech is here to stay... Battery tech is highly evolving..

I think if your wife is at that level of pregnancy you would be sure not to have an empty tank of gas or a low charged EV
10% would easilly go 20 miles... My Mother is getting an EV next month and 10% is 45 miles...

Exactly which Americans are going to work the fields? Stupid Fuck.
Those LAZY Americans won't even apply for Cush indoor jobs paying $15 per hour.

If we didn't have immigrant, legal or not, food would go unpicked and wasted.
Thank an immigrant every time you eat a fruit or vegetable.

Does not matter how efficient you get batteries, they are still losing energy in, energy out, energy to move the weight of the batteries, and energy to convert the electricity back to kinetics.
Electric vehicles are never going to be a good idea.
Hydrogen makes a lot more sense, because it is much more compact, lighter, and less expensive.
