It's been a two month pause now. I thought he was bluffing from the beginning and Canada in particular would work the levers in his circle to sway him so let's see if my original instincts end up being correct. Trump is weary of stole pigeons though so Canada and Mexico have to be careful lol.

Mexico doesn't seem worried at all as if they know something. Canada realizes that if the U.S bring back 10,000 auto jobs those jobs and their offshoot jobs supported by it will be difficult to reclaim even after Trump leaves office.

Trump is just delaying to save face. One has to wonder if he will go the lengths he promised he would or if it all ends up just being a fake-out until his four year ends. Canada feels "if we can just get by Trump we can always influence the next president and his circle even more since they will be a career politician.".

Another rarely discussed aspect of this is Trump is making deals for rare minerals in Ukraine and maybe even Russia that would hurt our economy in Ontario so this is a bit of a peculiar revelation which I've paid attention to but not enough people in Ontario media seem to notice the potential impact on us.

Trump has all the cards but I don't think he will play them, he is doubting his own philosophy. Ontario and Quebec are most worried, I don't think Alberta or Saskatchewan care much, oil is easy to move.

The problem is, Trump is notoriously unpredictable. If he sticks to his guns though...it will be an interesting time and you guys may see me and other Canadians get out sooner than later.

Whether President Trump institutes the tariffs, delays them, or rolls them back is entirely up to him, based on Mexico's and Canada's willingness to cooperate with the US. Apparently you don't know much about his ability to be a dealmaker. And having been investigated, harassed, arrested, fingerprinted, and shot, I sincerely doubt he's "afraid" to do anything he wants to.
