Red Dead Redemption 2.

I just found it as dull as dishwater.

One of sons says the same thing. So for fathers day, I ask him to let me watch him play. (PS Share, where someone can watch the others screen from different locations). He'd been in ch. 2 for a couple of weeks before he went back to COD. He didn't have anything done, except some of the main missions.
So we get on and he just starts riding around doing dumb stuff. Like lassoing horses and deer. He said this is all he knows how to do.
He'd collected no herbs, gotten no trinkets, hadn't completed one challenge. No dinosaur bones. He wasn't even looting the NPC's he killed. He hadn't even gotten fast travel yet. So he was taking those long rides, every where he went.

So I asked him to open up his satchel and navigate to a few places. He didn't know there were challenges. Didn't know he had to read the recipe's before he could craft anything. In short, he was just skimming through the game.

So I went into "director dad" mode and after a couple of hours, he was paying attention to camp dialog, NPC dialog, looking for herbs and crafting stuff. Making money. Getting better weapons. Getting 3 star pelts and working on satchel and camp upgrades. And getting more of the big picture, as they say.

Something I just noticed: At the end of ch. 2, you have to shoot up Valentine, and ride like the wind to escape Cornwall's men. By the time my wanted level was gone, I was real close to Wallace Station. I noticed my bounty was a whopping $85. (dang it. I should've worn my mask).
So I pay my bounty, set up camp and hit the fast travel button, but accidently selected Valentine. LOL

But to my surprise, I rode back into town without any trouble. Rode passed the sheriffs office and the sheriff was standing outside.

Arthur: Thank you, sheriff, for keep the peace.
Sheriff: hmmm

Hey dblack if you're down around Shady belle, (by the train tracks) and you hear a black man screaming. Help him. Save his wife and she'll reward you. BUT, and this is important, come back in about 6 to 12hrs (in game time) and there will be two escape cons, chained together beside that same house. (one is dead). Shoot the chain and the guy will give you the location of a gold bar, across from the water tower in Rhodes.

If you wait too long, they'll both be dead when you get there.

Finally got over the hump and I'm really enjoying the game. The writing is really good. Better than most TV shows these days.

Dang it. Dang it.

So I've got about 4 saved games.

1. Just getting into ch. 2.
2. Finished at 100% completion.
3. Current game. Ch. 4
4. Arthurs retirement. Ch. 6.

I closed out the current game and was going to play in Arthurs retirement save, but I accidentally saved over it. Dang it.
But thinking about it. I just have to finish the current game, and save a lot things for Arthur to do in his retirement. Once I'm there, it'll be better, I suppose.

Glad you made it. A lot of folks never get over that hump.

So tell me about what's going on?
Have you gotten the Legends satchel?
What system are you on?

dblack , if you have robbed the stage with Micah (after freeing him from jail), go back to his little campsite. There's two pieces of paper lying on the ground to pick up. Collectables.

This is one of them.

I'm almost there. The next adventure begins.

Marston finishing up the Callaway side mission.
I do highly enjoy playing as Arthur Morgan. But here I'm just switching things up a bit.
