Red Dead Redemption 2.

Headed that way.

I've been doing a bunch of side stuff. Kinda stalled, interest wise, in the southern family feud.

I take it you ran into the night folks in the swamps? You ain't seen nothing yet. Those Murphree brood people, east of Annesberg.............................

Keep an eye out on your mini map for " X "

I was attacked by the brood once, camping. Just three of them. Freakazoids.

What I find really amazing about these games, and RDR2 is one of the best at this, is the way they manage distances and perspective. They represent all the major regions of the country, all in tight proximity - but it never feels that way. The travel seems realistic, but it's very much not. If it were, it would be much less interesting. Boring even.

You can travel all the way across the map in an hour real time, but it never feels "miniature" or faked, or that your horse is travelling particularly fast. And you really get the sense that you're traveling to different parts of the country. There's some real trickery going on in that.

It's very cool how it takes a minute to get out of the snow or the swamps. It's so gradual, you barely even notice it. Going from the hills on the east coast to what looks like the rocky mountains (around O'Creagh's run), seems like it takes a while. But it's just short enough to not be boring.
Plus, if you ride too long, something always pops up to draw your attention. Like some guy kidnapping a woman. Bounty hunters with an innocent man stowed on their horse. Or something.

Speaking of that. have you done the horseman challenges? There's a few that you have to beat the clock from point A to B, on a dry run. Meaning you can't touch water. The one from Van Horn to Blackwater is the hardest. But I know a secret if you have trouble.

I need a favor, if you get the chance. This wall of bounty pictures are at the St. Denis police station. If you get by there, check it out and tell me if the wall in your game is the same as mine. I recognize most of these. But some I don't.
I'm wondering if the entire wall can be filled. The mission pictures makes me think I'm missing something.

Yeah -- the fact that the horse will happily run you right into a tree is a bit annoying. But it does make the roads, realistically, more worthwhile.

Another thing -- I often get fumbling fingered with the controller and hit the wrong button(s). For some reason, that I haven't quite isolated yet, I keep doing something when I'm trying to care for my horse that has me punching him instead. Funny thing is, a couple of times he's kicked me and runoff in response. Floored my ass. Took significant damage. Don't punch your horse.

What system are you on?

And yeah, I don't think anyone ever completely stop punching their horse. I did it last night, in fact. I felt bad. But only long enough for him to put me on my ass.

You know you can loot NPCs saddle bags, right. Just walk up beside them and it'll give you a prompt.

BTW, have you noticed yet how Dutch's character is much like Trump?

Lol.... Yeah, I suppose. Trump with pretentions.

Way back before 1899 and Micah came along, I'm sure there was a good Dutch. One that gave Arthur and Hosea a reason to be loyal to him.
Seems the whole thing surrounding their relationship with Dutch, is how much he's changed since Blackwater. I wanna see the Dutch that was a good man. And then what caused him to be the way he is now. There's gotta be a hell of a story in all that.

I got a message that said this topic/thread was irrelevant and that I should start a new thread.

Red Dead Redemption 2

I know this game is old now. But I just found it last August. And WOOOOOAH!!!!!! It's mind blowing. Everything from the story, the characters, the scenery, challenges and almost everything else. I'm on about my 7th playthrough, and I'm still finding new content and new ways of doing things.
One of the best parts of this game is having the ability to do things different, each time. And come up with a different outcome. I know there's certain things the game won't let you deviate from. But even then, there's more than one way of going about it. Especially when you consider the low & high honor endings.

I've found out how to get the Legends outfit in ch. 2. To avoid Thomas Downes when the letter pops up on his table. How to get outside the map and explore Mexico and Guarma. On version 1.0, my Arthur can explore New Austin during the day. I can set up camp down there and sleep. I can collect everything down there, including the herbs and dinosaur bones. Also the Otis Miller revolver. And make all the drawings in the journal. (as Arthurs drawing are a lot better than Johns). And as long as I don't turn off the console, I can go in and out of New Austin as many times as I want. Which is helpful when taking legendary animals to the trapper and the fish to the post office.

Arthur retiring at Hanging Dog ranch, without the O'driscolls ever respawning again. (after you and Sadie taken them all out)

Finding new things and new ways of going about this HUGE game, seems to be never ending.

Here's me getting the Legendary bear while hunting with Hosea. And BTW, you can get Hosea's rolling block rifle if you go back to camp with him. (You just have to blow up his horse with dynomite. But the horse respawns when you meet him at Emerald Ranch)

Greatest video game ever for me. I'm very much looking forward to GTA 6.

I've seen this interaction a dozen times, and never knew you could do it so many ways. I usually just mind my own business or ignore them all.

15th post
This is interesting. I'll be trying it on my next playthrough.
