Ready for the 1 Dollar Trump Coin?

It’s against US law to display the image of a sitting president or living former president. A president may be featured on a coin no sooner than two years following the president’s death.

“No coin issued under this subsection may bear the image of a living former or current President, or of any deceased former President during the 2-year period following the date of the death of that President,” according to the US code governing coin design.

In anticipation of America’s 250th anniversary, Congress passed the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act, which allows the US Treasury to mint special $1 coins to celebrate the event. The act states that the Treasury secretary may “mint for issuance during the one-year period beginning January 1, 2026, $1 dollar coins with designs emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial.”

Of course they did, spineless traitors.
I give you the Kennedy Half

The Carly Simon song comes to mind....You're so vain, I bet you think this song is about you....

Is he planning on dying?

He has to be dead, two years before being minted on a coin.

His face on the back, with his political slogan of fight fight fight serves no purpose but political.
They should replace "fight fight fight" with "democrats = traitors"

Wasn't minted when he was alive. But congress did authorize a couple months after his death.

31 U.S. Code § 5112 covers the denominations, specifications, and design of coins. The coin is not to commemorate a deceased president, it is to celebrate our country’s 250th anniversary! Therefore it is not prohibited. All it will take to have this coin produced is a congressional vote, and we all know who has a majority in Congress.

Even the article refers to them as commemoratives.
Should they be in circulation they ought to be stamped out of aluminum or pot metal as befitting the value of US money.
Get your crypto;)

Those Trump images on both sides of the coin are totally void of any image of the US or it's people. A real US coin should never be allowed to be all about dictator Trump.
LoL.....guess that flag isn't about our country in your eyes.

It should at least be a $100 gold coin after all He’s done for us.

Actually the US dollar has more value now than it did under the Obama administration. It's currently worth 97.66 cents, as opposed to 71.8 cents in July of 2008.

The dollar reached it's highest point of $1.53 in February 1985, when Reagan was President.
