“I motion to approve this as presented, and with the strong encouragement that you make it as large as possible, all the way to three inches in diameter,” the commission’s vice chair, James McCrery, said moments before the design was approved.
The coin they approved features an image of Trump standing with fists on his desk. It appears to be adapted from a recent White House photo installed at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. “LIBERTY” is spelled out on the top of the coin, above the dates 1776 and 2026. An eagle graces the back.

The 24-carat solid gold coin could be as large as three inches in diameter, which means it would have to contain a minimum of two to four ounces. At $5000 an ounce, the coins could sell for $10,000 to $20,000 per. Face value alone.

As a coin aficionado, I am super excited about it and would be lined up to get mine. It's supposed to be ready by July 4. The number of coins minted is said to be "extremely limitied". I don't know how many that means. 500? 1000? Yes, gold prices are probably at their peak, but I'm guessing this could limit the number produced.

A super-sized solid gold coin befitting the great man. I can't wait.

I assume the... face value of the coin is 250$, but the actual sale price would be far higher.

That is way to much for me to buy for a coin to throw into my collection for generations.


If they offered a SILVER one, for much less, I would consider it...


And truthfully, it doesn't look that great. Speaking as a long term collector.

Don't leave out the premium to Trump. It will be interesting to see what the MAGAts will pay. But I think it is too $ for your garden variety MAGAt. Trump should come out with a $99 silver-plated copper version for the low end MAGAts.
