Does Trump ever get it right?

did trumps one big beautiful bill actually stop recipients from paying tax on their social security benefits?

Short answer: No, the One Big Beautiful Bill did not actually eliminate the federal tax on Social Security benefits.
What it did instead was create an additional tax deduction for many seniors age 65 and older. For tax years 2025–2028, eligible seniors can claim an extra deduction (generally up to $6,000 per qualifying person, subject to income limits). This can reduce or even eliminate federal income tax for many retirees, including taxes they would otherwise owe on Social Security benefits.
The distinction is important:

ClaimAccurate?
"The bill ended taxes on Social Security benefits."❌ No
"Many seniors will pay less or no federal income tax because of the new deduction."✅ Yes
"Most Social Security recipients will no longer owe tax on their benefits."⚠️ Depends on income and circumstances; some analyses say the deduction will effectively eliminate tax liability for many recipients, but the underlying Social Security taxation rules were not repealed.
The reason this became controversial is that some official statements and political messaging described the law as delivering "no tax on Social Security." However, tax experts, the IRS guidance, and multiple fact-checks note that the law left the actual Social Security benefit taxation rules in place and instead provided a separate senior deduction.

Go to the social security website....
I did
And nowhere does it say that earnings on Tips are no longer taxable or their social security benefits are no longer taxable.

If you believe otherwise, then post the exact link of text.
I've checked, what you claim, I believe is not true.
Prove me wrong.

What is this "Enhanced Deduction?"

It certainly doesn't mean that SS benefits are 100% not taxable.

Are you capable of admitting you are WRONG?
Because you are WRONG.

Don't fluff the situation, just admit you are WRONG.
Tax on SS for Seniors was NOT eliminated, as you claimed.

Did Social Security benefits become tax-free?

No. The underlying rules that can make up to 85% of Social Security benefits taxable remain in place. The law did notrepeal those provisions.

What changed is that the new deduction reduces taxable income. For many middle-income seniors, that reduction is large enough that they may owe little or no federal income tax, including tax associated with Social Security benefits. But that is an indirect effect, not a repeal of Social Security taxation.

Short answer

  • Was there a proposal/promise for "no tax on Social Security"? Yes.
  • Did Congress actually eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits? No.
  • What happened instead? A temporary $6,000 senior deduction was enacted, which can reduce or sometimes eliminate federal income tax for many seniors, but the Social Security taxation rules themselves remain unchanged.

90% of social security recipients will not pay a tax on it... so I don't know how more clear I can make it for you...
Of course the "rich" who are still employed will pay a tax... but you should love that aspect....
In other words when your welfare ain't enough and you need to apply for whatever measly amount of SS you have earned you won't have to pay a tax on it.....

You’re wrong

How about providing a link with evidence to your claim that 90% of SS recipients will not pay tax

That information is wrong, I proved it, and you can’t admit it
