I think it should be noted that Obama's alleged weakness stems in no small part from "W"'s costly adventures in the ME. Americans by and large have shown apprehension to committing any more blood or treasure to that part of the world. Public opinion matters in the US, that's why propaganda is so prominent on our culture. There are several posts in the last few days (almost all from right wingers) about how "strong" Putin seems to be and....of course.....how "weak" in comparison Obama is viewed.
Throughout these posts there never seems to be an admission by these same right wingers that Obama's "weakness" is perceived by the Russians PRECISELY because of the hate-filled attitudes and statements made by these same right wingers.....including the louder voices by right wingers in congress.....and such does NOT go unnoticed by the Russian leadership.
What should be kept in mind by these right wingers is also the very real fact that we......unlike Russia.....are a much, much more open society when expressing and accepting of criticism of our leaders than Russia.
So, this "new found love" (and in some cases even longing) for the likes of Putin, is contingent and correlates to the "hatred" of Obama by many....on this forum....and, much more importantly, by our electorate (and media) in general..

When Obama destroyed Libya without congressional approval he was criticized as imperialistic. When he sought congressional approval for bombing Syria he was denied. What's a brother got to do to appease you people.

One of the reasons, even admitted by the most ardent Confederate adherents was the states right to determine the states right to slavery. Hence, those fighting under that flag were fighting for the states right to slavery.Says the guy who displays a flag that represents the side that fought for slavery as an advertisement of his beliefs in his avatar. When empty rhetoric is all you have run with it dude.obama is a pussy and it's bushs fault?...well, that's a new one...

the south wasn't fighting to keep slavery any more than the north was fighting to free them...you must watch a lot of television

The cause you argue for lost when there was an 18 in front of the number that represented the century. In 1865 the folks attempting to make your point were forced to surrender. A hundred years later federal troops were used to force some of the followers of those who surrendered give voting and education along with integration to the grand children and great grand children of the freed slaves. Now, in the 21rst Century only idiots are still fighting the confederate hopeless and shameful cause. Fighting the same battle and expecting different results is the definition of insanity according to Einstein. Are you smarter than Einstein or insane? One of the reasons, even admitted by the most ardent Confederate adherents was the states right to determine the states right to slavery. the north yammered for years about it so the issue was in the forefront at the time...and the cotton states did mention it in their secessions...but more as a way to thumb their noses at the north...
the war of northern aggression was neither fought to free slaves nor retain slavery.
If the north were fighting to free the slaves why didn't lincoln "emancipate" them on the first day?
Why did he not free the slaves in the northern states that still held them?
Why did he not "free" them in the border states? Why didn't his illegal "proclamation" include the slaves in new orleans?
you need to read some history and turn off the tv...

People are responding to the reality in front of them in the eyes of many around the world Putin looks strong and decisive and Obama looks weak and indecisive. The left wingers here may not like that but it is the perception out there and in politics both here at home and internationally perception has a way of becoming reality.
