Accept or follow? Do you accept you follow lying politicians? Or do you just follow them believing they are not?I guess that means modern Christians accept they're going to follow false prophets.

Accept or follow? Do you accept you follow lying politicians? Or do you just follow them believing they are not?I guess that means modern Christians accept they're going to follow false prophets.
Come on, you know as well as I do that a false prophet has no credibility to be teaching the Word. Pete Rose was a great baseball player, but was denied entrance to the Hall of Fame because he bet on games he was playing in. His credibility and the respect due to a great player was shot. What credence do you think God gives a false prophet? Do you think He says, "Just wait around, he might say something worth listening to"? There are many who fall from grace and recover after a period of humility and admission of guilt, but a false prophet was not tolerated. Is that all he has ever had to say?
My Bible doesn't have them in it, so no. Again, what do you care? You don't seem eager to answer that.He added the constitution, or at least part of it. It's noted to be missing amendments 11-27.
You mean he had to follow the rules? He wasn't given special treatment? SMH.Pete Rose was a great baseball player, but was denied entrance to the Hall of Fame because he bet on games he was playing in.
Yes, false prophets are not exactly God's favorite people. You should know that. You mean he had to follow the rules? He wasn't given special treatment? SMH.
Really? How many have you bought and read? And you're still not telling us why you care so much about what Christians believe. No, he didn't come get your copy of the Bible and add that. He did add it to the ones he had printed in China.
Do you fear such politicians?Because of their death grip on MAGA politicians.
Yep, same goes for people who give lip service to God; Isaiah 29:13 and Matthew 15:8-9. But my point was that you are rather selective about rule following.Yes, false prophets are not exactly God's favorite people. You should know that.
I observe to the best of my ability the two commands that Jesus tells me are the most important of all. You make rules out of those commandments and attempt to impose them on me.Yep, same goes for people who give lip service to God; Isaiah 29:13 and Matthew 15:8-9. But my point was that you are rather selective about rule following.
No. Actually, if you saw a prophet walking around in the OT giving prophesy, that was usually a bad thing because God sent them to warn them to turn from their wicked ways or very bad things will start to happen quickly. No one can deny that Christian leaders have taken a larger role in politics over the last several years. Whether that is a good or bad thing covers a wide range of subjects and is not what this thread is about. I just have one question that can be better answered by someone who at least has a working knowledge of the Bible
Prophets in the Bible are generally highly revered. For those that believe in the God of the Bible, receiving direct specific knowledge from God deserves respect. However, even back then, it was known that unscrupulous people might claim God told them something when he didn't. That's why anyone claiming to have a prophecy was held to a high and severe standard. Giving false prophecy that didn't actually occur was grounds for death. Falsely claiming authority of God's knowledge was not tolerated. Obviously, today, we don't kill false prophets, but is there anything in the Bible that says false prophecy should be taken lightly? If a prominent religious leader claims God told him something, and it doesn't happen as claimed, should he maintain his standing in the Christian community?
I'm not imposing anything upon you. It is you who is trying to impose your beliefs on my faith.I observe to the best of my ability the two commands that Jesus tells me are the most important of all. You make rules out of those commandments and attempt to impose them on me.
I said you attempt to impose them. I'm not imposing anything on you, because I don't have the power nor inclination to do so. You have to follow what God is telling you to do, as do I.I'm not imposing anything upon you. It is you who is trying to impose your beliefs on my faith.
So God is telling you to complain about Catholic requirements for taking communion?I said you attempt to impose them. I'm not imposing anything on you, because I don't have the power nor inclination to do so. You have to follow what God is telling you to do, as do I.
I haven't imposed anything upon you. What have I imposed upon you?I said you attempt to impose them. I'm not imposing anything on you, because I don't have the power nor inclination to do so. You have to follow what God is telling you to do, as do I.
No, I am explaining what happened to my wife and stating that Catholics should not exclude fellow believers who want to celebrate with them, as if the Catholic communion is somehow superior to others. So God is telling you to complain about Catholic requirements for taking communion?
Hardly. I have not, for instance, gone into a Catholic church and demanded that they cease and desist in serving their communion their way. I merely note that I consider them to be wrong in their exclusionary practices. You really should look at the meanings of words before you write them.I haven't imposed anything upon you. What have I imposed upon you?
You are the one trying to impose his will upon the Catholic Church for having requirements for sacred communion.
So she wants special treatment. Nevermind every Catholic has to meet the requirements. You want special treatment. No, I am explaining what happened to my wife and stating that Catholics should not exclude fellow believers who want to celebrate with them, as if the Catholic communion is somehow superior to others.
