Mina’s World, a cafe in Philadelphia that prided itself in being “Queer-owned,” has officially closed its doors after a woke employee revolt. The cafe was owned by Kate Egghart and Sonam Parikh, two queer activists who started Mina’s in an effort to create an inclusive coffee shop. However, their employees have claimed Egghart and Parikh are anti-black and “gentrifiers.” Gentrifier is a woke term used to describe those who purposely contribute to the displacement of low-income families. Mina’s World was located just around the corner from Malcolm X Park in Philadelphia and employed mostly minority workers.

Ironically— prior to the allegations from employees—Parikh spoke to Bon Appetit about the opening of Mina’s World and said when she worked at different coffee shops, “white ownership neglected to protect their Black and trans employees. I knew there needed to be a space where you could have an amazingly made cup of coffee that’s not whitewashed.”

Fast forward two years and employees of Mina’s World have put out a public statement where they claimed they were suffering from a plethora of “systemic” woes as a result of the alleged gentrification including “employer opposition” and “anti-blackness.”

I can tell you for a fact, that gays are EXTREMELY bigoted, prejudiced, racist, intolerant, and discriminatory against other gays that are NOT EXACTLY like THEM!

BUT.......if you're going to promote Wokeness in any form, no matter who you are, you are showing your hypocrisy and intolerance for others.......and like Disney, you will be called out and "shut down".

Because there are never asshole employees, right?

This isn't a conglomerate, it's a fucking woke coffee shop.

Shit, it's been my experience that small business owners are even WORSE than a conglomerate. Conglomerates actually bother to establish clear HR Policies.

While I've never worked for a truly SMALL business, it's been my experience the smaller the company, the worse the management behaves because nobody tells them, "now wait a minute."

I stand by my statement... if all of your employees are revolting against you, you must be some God awful managers, especially in THIS economy, where you can easily land a job in service.

Did you see their demands? It was all woke bullshit, with a demand to turn the business into a CO-OP with the workers.

Why didn't they just fucking quit?

Have you met the kind of people who work in Coffee shops?

I wouldn't know... But clearly, they must be pretty miserable if they all got together and said, "let's strike against this shop."

Or they thought they could take over the business from the owners.

It's right up with the whole SJW "you don't own that" mentality.

I'm sure the working conditions were perfectly fine if you were dealing with non-snowflakes.

Before I changed my business model, I met with a lot of my customers at Starbucks. (Post Covid, it's all teleconferencing)

I wouldn't want to work under those conditions for that pay.

Again, I go with my first theory, these two lesbians were just awful people to work for.

To you working for anyone is awful.

I wonder if the issue is you and not your previous employers.

I've had some great bosses.

And I've had some awful ones.

What I've found is that the great bosses don't last. They usually get removed in office politics or they move on to better things.

The bad bosses refuse to go away.
