Total garbageHe used EXCESSIVE FORCE.
A couple of strikes to the throat with a pen can kill you just as dead as any gun or knife can.
.
Wasn't my point. My point was he could have pointed a gun at the dude and that would most likely have deescalated the situation.
He got 4 years, tells me he used EXCESSIVE FORCE.
However the right think "excessive force" doesn't exist. Someone knocks on your door, shoot the ******. Someone looks at you wrong, shoot the ******.
It's easier than thinking. Same as voting for Trump.
Perhaps you should have paid more attention to the thread, he wasn't convicted of the shooting, he was convicted of unconstitutional weapons possession charges, 26 counts.
.
The one Bernie Goetz used-- HE settled those muggers hash but good. Goetz was a HEROWhat sort of gun would be best for defense against muggers?
Just a reason to jail him. After all ,in the Dem book ,Muggers have RIGHTS. So do Cutthroats and Lady Burners--As long as they are MinoritiesPerhaps you should have paid more attention to the thread, he wasn't convicted of the shooting, he was convicted of unconstitutional weapons possession charges, 26 counts.

A 67-year-old man who fatally shot a would-be mugger during a robbery gone wrong has been jailed for four years.
Charles Foehner, from Queens, New York, appeared stone-faced as he arrived at Queens County Criminal Court Thursday morning for sentencing.
Foehner, a retired doorman, was walking to a parking garage outside his Queens apartment when the alleged mugger lunged at him with a sharp object about 2am on May 31, 2023.

Comment:
In most states the mugging victim would probably walk.
NY seems to favor the criminal over the victim.
Society will eventually break down if crime gets out of hand.
Don;t be stupider than you have to..Criminals are a cherished voting block for the Democrat Party's coalition of hate.
He killed someone who waved a ballpoint at him and only got charged with having a bunch of illegal guns.Hey well they could have just taken his guns away and then put him on probation. Was it his first offence ?
With todays fully compromised bought and paid for court I wouldn't doubt he could get off.And I hope he appeals it to SCOTUS, if you have to pay the State to own a firearm then it's not a right as defined in the Constitution, it's an infringement on that right.

Capital Policeman Michael Byrd shot unarmed Ashley Babbitt and he was not even charged with violating her civil rights.Wasn't my point. My point was he could have pointed a gun at the dude and that would most likely have deescalated the situation.

Wow, how did they justify 26 counts for one weapon and one incident?Perhaps you should have paid more attention to the thread, he wasn't convicted of the shooting, he was convicted of unconstitutional weapons possession charges, 26 counts.

Why has that never been challenged? Seems to me that is contrary to "keep and BEAR arms"The far left make it hard to own a gun in NYC.

Can You Legally Carry a Gun in NYC?
Carrying a firearm legally in NYC is governed by a stringent process, requiring applicants to meet specific criteria and navigate a thorough review by the NYPD.legalclarity.org
Summarily executed for trespass.Capital Policeman Michael Byrd shot unarmed Ashley Babbitt and he was not even charged with violating her civil rights.
He was convicted of having an "arsenal" of unlicensed guns in his apartment. Not for shooting anyone.
Why can't you people ever tell the truth?
Illegal gun, used in a somewhat questionable shooting?Case is still bullshit, crep.
Mr. Foehner's home would have never been searched in a civilized jurisdiction. The warrant was bogus as the persecutors were on a Fishing Expedition, looking for something to charge him with.
Further, the sentence of prison time was totally excessive, for merely not having proper paperwork for his weaponry.
I could see a small fine and perhaps some community service, but he wasn't convicted of a violent crime and was a peaceful Senior Citizen.
With todays fully compromised bought and paid for court I wouldn't doubt he could get off.

His house would have been searched in any jurisdiction
I do find your implication that Queens isn't civilized worth a few chuckles though..
True. "Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six."Can you get authorization for a gun in NY. If so, he should have done that.
Still 4 years (and out in 18 months probably) is better than becoming a mugging/murder statistic.
