To be abundantly clear, this is not a matter for DoJ policy, any more than opening our southern border is a matter for INS policy. It is THE LAW. You CANNOT FUCKING FLOUT THE LAW, especially when you have sworn an oath to uphold the LAW.

The law EXCLUDES student debt from discharge under personal bankruptcy. There was a very good reason for that. Doctors, lawyers, dentists, pharmacists,and veterinarians were using the Bankruptcy laws to cynically erase their debt as soon as they got established in their practice, but BEFORE they started making good money.
