Producer of aluminum explains the need for tariffs

Sure, they can raise their prices by 25%.

Which is what happens when domestic manufacturers can hide behind the tariff wall.

Sometimes, it encourages investment.
Mostly, it subsidizes inefficiency.
Yeah....

One would think MAGA dumbfucks would have caught on by now.

American made goods should be 20% cheaper than anything imported by now with all of the tariffs the blob has levied. Instead, American manufacturers have just raised their prices to cash in on their dumfuckery.

I think they have a mental defect. They like Trump lying to them and they like being taken advantage of. Why? Well, they can’t garner attention any other way so this is some bizarre need they have to be noticed.

Of course

Worker safety and environmental standards cost money

As do higher wages and benefits

That means more Americans working and contributing to the economy

The US has only mined 1.3% of Bauxite, and so it buys aluminium in. Last mining in Arkansas was in 1981. Looks like America is just being stupid with aluminium and tariffs

Hopefully the new jobs include union protection so the workers aren't exploited. Whatever the wage is overseas, double it automatically.

They sure are. Is this producer going to profit from tariffs?
You sure are negative

Do you see no value in American workers having good jobs and high wages?

I’d rather they have jobs not supported by corporate welfare.
