Price gouging legislation and the Republicans....

I found this. I'm not too knowledgeable about price gouging legislation, but this suggests a lot of Republican states introduced this in the Covid period.

Texas had it, Utah, Kansas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana to name a few.

They must ALL BE COMMUNIST... seeing as this is the ONLY reason I got for Kamala being a Communist... her support for price gouging legislation.
Almost all of those "price gouging" provisions are to prevent people from using natural disasters to prey on people who are desperate. Hurricanes are the most common example.

Implementing price controls because your economic policies have created a massive spike in inflation is not a natural disaster! It's shifting the blame.

States rarely prosecute however.
Florida does. We slam-dunked a few of them after one Hurricane..... Charley, I think it was. Hurt them badly. No real problems since.

Republicans make Laws, not suggestions. **** around down here and you will find out.

It's why everybody that can, is moving here. Much to my distaste. I don't like it here very much anymore. All the SHIT I ran away from, all the dimocrap scum garbage I sought to escape, the crowds, the fat women, the traffic, the me-first urban scum, the rudeness so prevalent in Cities..... It's all moving here.

Which is the main reason I might be moving out. After 48 years, I'll miss it. But, I don't like Cities and I don't like City people. What else can I do?

Check out the center of the State, Edge. Once you get away from the coasts you get away from a lot of what you're describing. (Obviously avoid Orlando!) I agree about the overcrowding...since Covid thousands of people moved from States run by liberals to Florida because there is still some common sense in play down here.

Texas does too

You're comparing apples to oranges. The states that regulated prices for a short time did so during a "state of emergency." What "state of emergency" is Harris claiming exists that would justify destroying the free market?

Oh yeah, apples and oranges, one is price gouging legislation from people you like, the other price gouging legislation from people you don't like.

Or are you suggesting it's okay to become "Communist" in a "state of emergency"???

Kamala is suggesting a law against price gouging, not price controls.

When you have to respond like this and there are other threads the same way it is like the forum has many shills in it to cause interference for the Communist movement.

No, Kamala is suggesting price controls but she wants to call it something else because everyone knows that those have been an utter disaster in the past! It's what you on the left DO!

How convenient. She says "price gouging" you decide that's not what she wants because otherwise that'd make her the same as the Republicans... wow.

More bullshit.
I suspect none of these laws address price gouging.

The Michigan law has nothing to do with price gouging.

If one representation in the source is 100% wrong than the link, source, is pure propaganda.

The authors require us to be lazy and not read the laws.

She's blaming high food prices on grocery chains that have an average of about 1 1/2 to 2 % profit margin on sales! Accusing them of "price gouging" even though all that's happened is those chains have passed along higher costs that THEY have been forced to pay! Those grocers are NOT the problem...the problem is the steep inflation that the Biden/Harris Administration unleashed on the American people with their ill advised spending spree coming out of Covid!

I'm saying those who are calling Kamala a Communist for suggesting something that existed in REPUBLICAN STATES, might want to learn some recent history to see why they're talking a crock of shit.

So, how was that working out for those states.

Hindenburg Harris can define price gauging....er gouging for us ?

But the thing is she's not proposing to limit prices. He details are sparse... so it's impossible to say what's she's actually proposing. But she's said "price gouging", not price control. And price gouging is stopping people making excess profit from such situations.

It seems the Republicans don't have a problem with this.

BUT... being able to shout "COMMUNIST" as someone just before an election is too good an opportunity for people who literally don't care if they're lying or not...

Why am I not surprised that you're unable to grasp such a simple concept?!

Oh yeah, it's clearly my fault I don't understand that everything has to be convenient for the Republican way of "thought"

Apples are oranges are both fruits. But they're very different fruits. Try to learn.

Government control over excess is one thing, while government control of EVERYTHING is quite another. Try to learn.
