You missed the point. The new afghan government has put an end to partisanship.
If you want everyone around you to agree, move there...
FYI - it was only 43,000 votes in three states (out of 159 million cast) and he would have been reelected. It wasn't "a giant conspiracy with massive coordination that defies logic and reason to steal an election"Yeah, I'll have to disagree with you here. The divide is real. And stark. Party, Primary, and General Election issues aside, I'm referring to the actual ideological divide. There is a section of the population that actually believes there was a giant conspiracy with massive coordination that defies logic and reason to steal an election from a complete fraud of an individual whose party should have had the sack to 86 his candidacy the moment he stepped foot off that escalator. I'll use my Gen-X self as an example. If you believe this happened, then you believe in a fantasy. A conspiracy theory. Wishful thinking. This is only an example. Speaking only for myself, there is NO OTHER place that you and I can go to find common ground if this is what you truly believe. It's a non-starter for me. I'll be polite to you. I'll listen but I won't hear. Why? Because you're not rational. You're not a critical thinker. You're not someone to be taken seriously. I'm not saying everyone is this way, but I am. And I like to think I'm pretty reasonable. But this kind of an attitude is rampant on the other side (just as they think it's rampant on this side).
Hence the divide. Not easily fixed.
That's a perfect example of what I'm talking about. There's nothing ideological about that. It's just the kind of stupidity that the extreme partisanship engenders.Yeah, I'll have to disagree with you here. The divide is real. And stark. Ah... so do we have a defender of partisan politics?
Who said anything about that? The right to disagree with the democrats and the w crowd, absolutely.
Me too.The real truth is that the democrats and most of the republicans "agree" that expanding government, lying to us, committing treason against the US, and running up our debt is just fine.
I disagree.
Who said anything about that?
Me too.
Not clear on your position. Are you just trolling?Become a Libertarian PARTISAN!!!!!

Except for the fact that we are 180 degrees in opposition on just about every issue. The divide is artificial, and exacerbated by our election system. The combination of the two-party stranglehold, and a primary system that rewards partisanship over consensus building, sets us against each other in ways that don't need to happen.
Exactly. But, for the most part, it's artificial - and there's rarely anything ideological involved, rarely any discussion of political philosophy. Mostly it's just populist horseshit and demonizing the "other" side. Cause fear is what it's all about.Except for the fact that we are 180 degrees in opposition on just about every issue.
Nope. It’s going to get worse though. It’s not like we have two parties all for America but with some policy differences. We have one that is running actual communists for president. I’m not going to get tired and try to meet in the middle of that kind of shit. There’s nothing to negotiate at this point. One of us has to win, big. We either get back to being the USA or we become communist. I’m not interested in that or even meeting them half way.Anyone else?
Nope. But your point of view illustrates the message pretty clearly. You immediately assume the thread is a partisan ploy. You're trapped in that mindset.Politics would be so much easier if republicans simply agreed with the democrat party agenda even if it's wrong. Ain't that the message?
Or, more likely, partisans destroy the country bickering over who gets to be in charge.Nope. It’s going to get worse though. The media certainly doesn't help. It's a fear factory that drives the entrenched parties into bitter opposition - mostly over imagined horrors amplified by a compliant media. Social media is particularly bad about this, even having AI algorithms that pump whatever scares you the most into your news feed. The elephant in the room during the argument about "partisanship" is the media. When the media abandons it's constitutional role as a independent monitor of the political process and becomes a partisan partner of the democrat party, the Country is in worse shape than we thought.
You’re the one pushing that choice. If you think I’m going to become nonpartisan so you can turn this into a socialist country peacefully you’re fucked. I’d prefer a civil war.Or, more likely, partisans destroy the country bickering over who gets to be in charge.
Well, I don't think that. So I guess we're good. You’re the one pushing that choice. If you think I’m going to become nonpartisan so you can turn this into a socialist country peacefully you’re fucked. I’d prefer a civil war.
