Your analogy is, as usual for you, a false one.
My Lai was inarguably a deliberately-conducted war crime.
The unfortunate killing of civilians when trying to kill the Hamas filth (who always seek to hide behind the poor people there) is not murder and it’s not the targeting of civilians.
As you knew when you tried to foist off that false dichotomy.
As propagandists go, you really should. You are very bad at it and a scumbag to boot.
My Lai is misunderstood.
During the War, Viet Cong would go into Villages and conscript workers to dig holes in roads so the VC could could plant mines. They'd make the Villagers plant anti-personnel mines, punji stakes, etc.
The VC would also use Villages as re-supply stations. Coming in from Cambodia, the Porters couldn't carry a lot. But that was the only way the North could get weapons and munitions to the South (the VC). So tehy couldn't carry a lot of food and they'd stop in the Villages, eat, rest and push their bicycles loaded down with explosives and munitions further into the Country.
I could go on and on but that should suffice for my little blurb here.
The US tried to slow this down by constructing Strategic Hamlets. They would uproot Villagers and move them to Strategic Hamlets where the VC couldn't use them as forced labor anymore. Because they were well guarded and it was bad for VC health to go there.
But this is where ignorance on America's part sets in...... We, my Unit, tried to tell them but they wouldn't listen. Why should West Pointers listen to us snake-eaters? In Countries like that, in the boonies, they don't have Deeds and Titles and Registrars, etc, etc. All they have is -- People lived on the land, they farmed it, they built their Huts on it and it was theirs. Maybe for thousands of years.
The only right they had to the land was the fact they lived on it. They occupied it. So when College pukes came up withe idea of moving the people off their land, it backfired.
The Villagers would take off, leave the Strategic Hamlet, and go back to their Villages, the VC would show up again and use them as forced labor. They would plant mines, build booby traps and American Soldiers would get killed and maimed.
Lt Calley flipped out. He got tired of seeing his men get maimed and killed by booby traps and roadside bombs. He got tired of listening to his men scream in pain as their legs got blown off.
He flipped. And the men under his command weren't too thrilled about it either.
I;m not telling you I agree with what he did. I do not.
But the story behind it is covered up. Because that's what 'journalists' do. They lie. They develop a story in their heads then go out and find the 'facts' to make it true.
Actual "FACTS" to 'journalists' are extremely troubling. They'll go with "The Story" every time, facts be damned
