MacArthur manages to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory and orders exhausted ill supplied Troops on an ego trip to the Yalu river in the beginning of winter in a country known for harsh winters to the biggest ambush in military history by Chinese troops. It takes the deaths of 50,000 Americans in three years and crazy threats of nuclear strikes on China from a possibly mentally impaired general for little timid Harry Truman to finally take control.
