USMB progressives have been begging for the plan. Enjoy. 😉
It’s going to be yuge.

Obamacare. No one will ever realize how significant it is.

So, I walked off the job a week ago. I never needed the job anyway. Took it as a favor to an old friend. I could see the writing on the wall. It was time to go.

So, Health Insurance. Under my employer I had a PPO plan with a $6,000 deductible, per person, and a $12,000 out of pocket limit. They took $200 a week from my paycheck. Sure, preventive services were covered at no cost, thank you Obamacare. But everything else, from doctor's visits to prescription drugs, was subject to the deductible. Some surgeries, some hospital stays, we hit the out of pocket limit last year. Fully expect to this year.

On the exchange, what you call Obamacare, I have a $2,100 deductible, a $4,200 out of pocket limit. I have co-pays for doctors visits, $25, specialist, $45. And that is from the first dollar, no deductible. My premium, $145 a MONTH. Trump wants to talk about putting money in people's pocket. Let's crunch the numbers.

I was paying $800 a month in premium, actually more but not playing that 4.3 game. So I save $650 a month in premiums. Hit the out of pocket limit again, well I have reduced that by almost $8,000 dollars. I mean we are talking almost $20,000 a year that Obamacare has just put in my pocket. You get back to me when Trump's plan can improve that.

Your PPO sucked ass.

Mine has just a $1000 deductiable, and a #1000 out of pocket for 135 a week, or $7000 per year. They just added this year a $25 copay for doctor and a $100 copay for hospital emergency room.

There are copays for specialty care that stops when you reach the 1000 dollar deductable.

Your friend scewed you.

The ACA is the worst posslbe market for insurance.

But I will note you didnt' read Trumps plan just by your response.

We are now at the point in which the left will reject Trumps health plan because he is Trump and they won't give him credit for anything.

The gaslighting is about to get intense.
Calling it a plan is a bit generous. Vague talking points is more apt.

There are a couple wonky points worth discussing.

He mentions ACA cost sharing reductions. He calls it a "neglected". Yeah, that's because he torpedoed these payments (which go directly to insurers, that he tries to demonize as getting too much money but whatever) back in 2017 during his first administration.

He also mentions pharmacy benefits managers getting unnecessary payments. Yeah, we noted that too which is why a bipartisan group of legislators formulated regulations to end this. It was put into the funding bill to be passed at the end of 2024. Then Elon Musk and a bunch of right wing assholes made a big deal about how long the bill was and it was removed.

Unfortunately none of you care or know about any of this because healthcare policy is just too hard to debate with the general public.

LOL, going to save tons of money right? Nope, you're still sending money to an individual that may or may not purchase health insurance and whether it is the same amount of a subsidy they're receiving now or less the government is still going to fund cost sharing reductions.

If an individual does purchase health insurance guess what? Money still going to the health insurance companies. If they don't purchase insurance the insurance companies with the loss of revenue will just have to raise premiums that all this shitty bill was suppose to take care of.

The only way to possibly lower the premiums is to insure individual with pre existing conditions. At this point that ain't going to fly with pubs or dems.

In his bill he says govt will fund the cost sharing subsidies.

There’s no bill, but he does say that he wants to fund them. Woulda been nice if he weren’t the reason they weren’t funded to begin with.

Well, I just don't see this saving a damn dime.

Well, it is a plan. A plan is a list of things the promoter would like to see happen.

This is up to Congress to enact, so we know that the Democrats will shoot it down.

It used to be called a POTUS "signaling" back when congress used to sorta do their jobs. A POTUS was not charged with coming up with a total plan on something on his own.

The party in power would pick up on it and try to make it happen.

Now they waste time trying grandstanding to get someone to tell them what a woman is....Sure, it's funny and all but does not run the country.

trump is a Loon.
Dear Lord, I'm sure this will get 100% support from the CULT when they have no idea what's in his plan.

This ought to be good.

Hopefully, this isn't another Epstein Files, but it's a good plan

I had an HSA plan. And it was a family plan. Yes, I read it. Tell me, how much money is Trump going to give to the consumers? $20,000? Because that is what I am getting. And I know quite a bit about the Republican plan, at least the basis. Cross state solicitation of insurance, probably ditch the pre-existing condition ban on ACA plans, elimination of loss ratio requirements, maybe even the elimination of guaranteed renewability.

But seriously, if I told you I could cut your car insurance premium by 200,300, even 400%, would you not slam the door in my face? Mathematically, impossible. Can you not recognize a con when you see one? The claim about lowering insulin cost. Yeah, Trump implemented a voluntary plan for MAPD insurers applying only to Medicare patients and was completely voluntary. Biden lowered them for every one.
