1) Double dip recession

2) Unemployment hits 14%

3) Credit Bubble pops

4) Iran tests 1st nuclear weapon

THAT will never happen
i doubt it will drop much below 40 if it even gets to 40%

My prediction will be between 25-35% . And that will put it toward the actual number of Hardcore leftwingers there are. (A Minority to be absolutely sure).
we'll see who is closer to being right ;)

Indeed. It's just I gave a window to reflect what I belive the true number of Die-Hard Obamite/Statists to really be. ;) Everyone else will have recused themselves from Obama's sinking ship.

Rasmussen identifies the 'Statists' as the "Political Class" or those who look to bigger, more powerful government to solve problems and allocate necessary funds for most purposes.

The hard core Poliical Class are a very small group - fewer than 20%. When you add the leaners--those who are more accepting of big government than not, it pushes that group up to around 30%. Everybody else are mainstream or lean mainstream.

It was interesting in that list of stuff for 1909 I posted up there a bit, that two or three of our local "political class' members gave me a thanks for that post. And I thank them for that.

But. . .

I wonder if they overlooked the fact that fewer than 10% of the taxes we pay today were paid back then? Fewer than 5% of the industrial regulations that we have now were in place back then? And even though it was a much more simple and primitive world back then we far fewer amenities, we were the most free, most prosperous, most productive, and most growing economy in the world at that time? Each generation made new improvements and each generation could expect to prosper more than the previous generation even as they corrected problems that needed to be corrected?

Now few people expect to prosper as much as their parents; few think that America is not in decline, and few expect the next 100 years to be as successful as the last 100 years.

I don't think it is too late to revese the destructive path that we are on. But we do need to reverse it and soon.

Predictions from those wishing for an economic collapse because that is the only way Republicans could ever be able to be elected again

Sorry, Bush ain't President so there are not massive waves of people wishing for everything to fall apart... But there are still some hitler signs, recycled I hope.

I predict Obama will finish his Presidency and be regarded as better than Bush. I love President Obama.

Obama will be rated higher than Reagan, while Bush will sink to the worst modern president

I'll excuse this, you're new here.

So there are massive amounts of people wanting things to fall apart huh? Prove it, and remember if you point to a crowd trying to tell others that Obama's policies will continue to erode what's left of the economy, maybe they are not hoping for things to get worse but trying to fix it.

Ahhh...

I think I understand. When liberals complain about Bush, they were hoping the country would fall apart. But when conservatives complain about Obama, they're trying to help.

I get it now.

Careful when you quote someone who is quoting someone elseÂ…

The original quote was RW saying “Predictions from those wishing for an economic collapse because that is the only way Republicans could ever be able to be elected again”

My response was to HIM acting like this mentality somehow would have only existed under Obama and Liberal people were supporting Bush. ThatÂ’s why I mentioned the Nazi signs, you saw them all over under Bush and you are starting to see them popping back up now under Obama, recycled I hope =D

As a whole yes, I think people today are trying to make things better than hoping for the worse. Under Bush it felt like we can fix this after that fucker was out of officeÂ… With Obama it feels like a third of Bush only more extreme, itÂ’s now imaginable that a president could destroy the country.

Bush was a fake conservative, we all know this. Even liberals enjoy pointing out how much Bush expanded Government, oddly not seeing that their hate for Bush while identifying him closer to Obama than any other president. Obama is here and nothing was repealed, itÂ’s in fact being expanded on more so.

For the record, when Bush was leaving office conservatives and liberals hated him, look at that approval rating. Now, as of today many liberals are turning on Obama as they see Bush the third. If you would like to defend that Obama and Bush are truly different be my guest. In the end itÂ’s both sides making noise and trying to fix things, while under Bush conservatives just silently removed themselves from the republican party (you know that massive fracture the RP had?).

I seriously, seriously doubt that.

I agree with most dire predictions on your list. The only exception would be #6,the Republicans winning back the House & Senate. I think it's realistic to think they could win the House back but it's virtually impossible for them to win the Senate back. If they can pick up some seats in the Senate, that would be considered a big victory to me. If they can somehow balance the Senate again, they could effectively stop the Socialists/Progressives. Just stopping this Socialist/Progressive madness would be a job well done in my opinion. I think some are getting their expectations a bit out of whack. Winning the House back is possible. Winning the Senate back is highly unlikely. We do need some real change though. Make 2010 count people.

I predict this thread will hit at least 500 by the end of the year and everyone will still Love me.... Well...I figure I'm running about 50% anyway...

Predictions for 2010

1. Unemployment drops to 7%

2. Dow Jones hits 12000

3. Healthcare passes

4. Republicans pick up seats in the House and Senate but are still a minority

5. Sarah Palin implodes because of a quote she can't take back

6. Kim Jung Il and Castro die. Clinton forges new US relationships with restructured Communist regimes

Moving into the final quarter of the year so time to review Nutwinger's predictions again:
1) Unemployment moved UP last month to 9.6%, like anyone believe's the gov't number anyway. In any case even the White House is saying unemployment will be in the 9-10% range for the foreseeable future.

2) Dow Jones has never gotten close to 12,000. Seems stuck in the 9,500-10,500 range. No reason to think a big move up is coming, unless the GOP takes Congress.

3) Health care passed and is now opposed by 60% of the American public. Democrats are running away from it like picknickers from fire ants.

4) Republicans on track to take over House. Might win the Senate too. Democratic leadership in panic mode.

5) Sarah Palin still as popular as ever, called a "fund raising phenomenon" in the press.

6) Kim Jonh Il looking spry on recent tour of China. Castro gave his first speech in years, looking fit and rested.
