I've heard people talk about California before. Like "I'm going to California", or "Why don't you go to California?" or "I just got back from California."

And SF is considered the only city in the state (if you ignore LA and SD).

The fact still remains, no one was asked what their political leanings were when they signed up for the porn, so to claim more liberals OR conservatives were buying it as a fact is dishonest at best. It's pure conjecture, an assumption, a lie.

On the other hand, utah is about 90% republican so...

I would say the link is more about conservative RELIGIOUS groups, though. And, the survey in it's present form is too large to be generalized from. For instance, I suspect that porn usage is higher amongst Michigan's conservative Islamic population than it is among the overall population of Michigan, which is a very liberal state.

This whole study is a FARCE... but it doesn't surprise me that a lib like bobbie buys into it. It's pure partisan garbage.

The study goes by broadband internet connections and zip codes. They're guessing these zip codes contain conservatives, but, BUT, and that's a HUGE but, there is NO WAY this bogus 'study' has to know what the buyers of porn are, liberal or conservative, THEY WERE NOT ASKED! The whole ******* premise of this 'conservatives buy more porn' hyperbole is nothing more than pure partisan hack fraudulence.

Of course, if it were something you consider bad for Liberals you'd eat it up faster then Rush eats dinner.

I on the other hand believe what I read by most politicians and studies like Ann Coulter eats.

There is a direct link between Red States and buying more porn. Many of these top states voted BIG TIME for McCain. So sorry Pale, take the crying elsewhere.

can you explain to me ; if it was the liberals in these primarily conservative states buying up the porn as you said, WHY WOULDN'T the porn purchases be even higher in an ALL liberal state with a ton more liberals to buy it?

you make no sense with your comment....there is no logic to it supported by this poll, but there is some logic to, "if liberals like porn in conservative states because, well, they are liberal, then Liberals would also like it in a liberal state as well, wouldn't they? So a liberal state WOULD HAVE a higher porn purchase rate per person than a conservative state, if this were the case.

But it is NOT the case, more people per 1000 people in Conservative States are making the purchases.

So, although the poll was not finite in its conclusions, sound speculation can be made none the less, from liberal states NOT having a higher rate of porn purchases per 1000 adults living within these states.

And, although I have no room to talk, because I am on my second marriage(though my only true and real marriage to me because i was so naive and young on the first one of only 2.5 years)....marriage tends to be stronger in liberal states. For example, massachusetts had the lowest divorce rate for the longest of times, and I think they still might.

Most and many liberals and Democrats have conservative values when it comes to themselves and governing their own lives...they just believe in freewill, those that are religious and Democrats, and believe they should lead by their own example, not necessarily via fire and brimstone condemning others who may not have the same values.

My parents have been married 52 years, my italian grandparents who lived here were married 65 years before one died, my American grandparents were married 45 years before one of them died....All Democrats....it's all I know....

In my neighborhood in Massachusetts, nice middle class neighborhood, near all Democratic voters, ALL were on their first marriages, mostly stay at home moms or just a few partime hours a week.... neighborhood watch, where the moms also watched eachother's kids while playing outside...but really nothing at all to even watch...just a safe neighborhood all around, with very good public schools.

Matt and me were the odd man out, with me having a divorce previously and also us not being able to have a bunch of rugrats running around in the neighborhood and with me having my own 50-60 hour a week career while my husband had a 40 hour a week one....at most....

Liberals may seem like they are all loose as a goose when it comes to morals, at least this is how the "right" likes to play it because of the beyond liberal people that vote with the Democrats instead of the republicans, but i am suggesting that liberals in their own lives, live up to the standards that conservatives claim to have....

And yes, i realize that all of that may have come out extremely partisan, on my part....i just needed to vent!

Many of these women don't even know how they ended up in this industry. I imagine things are somewhat better than they used to be, with HIV being such a concern. At least most of the women and men involved in porn are now tested regularly and are more aware of the potential dangers of having sex with so many different partners.

I like porn, but I do wonder about the people who do these, ah, performances. They are basically shooting themselves in the head. seems simple enough of a statement on it....

but, is it odd for example, men who enjoy porn, also being the ones advocating the banning of it or expanded gvt reach to regulate it more on the internet, street corners, book stores, strip clubs etc, for political purposes or ethical standards, even though, they may not be practicing what they preach?

it could be that this is not hypocritical, the guy knows he perhaps has a problem with it where he just can't stop, and thinks it would even help him if it were regulated more or if the availability reduced...? who knows? No one but the politician himself I guess....

Is porn accepted as just a fact of life as you implied by most all men or are there some men that still hold other men at a lower view for being "in to it"?

Is it an unspoken thing of men loving it? (And their wives and girlfriends are not really in the know?)

Or is it something that can be spoken among men like; would a guy be casusally saying to his male boss when having drinks after work with him. that there is a great porn site he found and would like to share it with him, as easily as asking his boss to share a beer with him????

My husband charges $200 an hour to fix computers for his coworkers after work. The biggest problem? Porn loading itself on the machines. Some are Libs, some are Cons.. There's no more of one than the other..

Easy money. Why? Cuz they're guys.
