Unlike school textbooks the Bible doesn't change with the seasons, and they are in no danger of becoming 'dog-eared' from overuse.I see no reason for schools to provide texts and reference material in subjects and courses that are not in the curriculum. Since religion is not taught in public schools there is no reason to waste money on religious texts for public school libraries.
It is an unnecessary expense and people have access to any books they want to read through their public libraries or online sources.
