Somehow I doubt it, but that's what a local radio station just announced.

They said he has "sniffles." So I guess that's proof he's got this virus and not just a cold

Honestly it’s entirely possible. Rome is a huge tourist draw, and LOTS of Chinese tour groups can be seen roaming through the city. Italy had a huge outbreak of Coronavirus because of that. The Pope sees lots of people, shakes hands, kisses hands and foreheads of people.
