I'm making an argument here to the trolls that "Zionism" doesn't have a universal, inherent meaning to them. Its just code for "whatever Jews do, its evil, but we are going to pretend its not about the Jews, its just the "Zionists".

I'd make a different argument to those supporting the Jewish people and the State of Israel. Which is: we don't actually need a special, unique word for our particular self-determination nor for the existence of our State. Its just self-determination, same as everybody else's. And its just a State which exists same as everybody else's. Just use those words.

No, I didn't intend to do that. Apologies. By "you" I meant the antisemites.

I do believe that Israel needs to exist as a place Jews can go when things get bad in their home. Historically, Jews seem to be the primary scapegoat and target for countries who consistently fail at everything, so if that time comes, Jews need a place where they can be secure, where their government won't round them up.
